where can i find the ATF filter? can i locate it just right under the hood, or have to go under the car to locate it. i did my tranny fluid drain and refill twice last week...so do i have to drain the ATF in order to replace the filter?

hey guys, i've got almost 74K on the TSX and I can feel the transmission kicking a bit more when it shifts (auto). Is there anyway to do a full flush without taking it to a mechanic? and if so, is it worth it?

I think Acura actually recommends against flushing the transmission. If you do 4x drain/fills with a few miles of highway driving in between each drain, you'll replace >90% of the fluid which is good enough

Hey there, nice pics of your filter. I want to adapt this filter to my civic, in the cooler line. I have the filter but there is no flow direction stamped on the filter. Do u have any idea which way the flow is? The filter has a crimp that is close to the inlet on one side as a reference point.
Thanks

I just went to the dealer today to pick up some tranny fluid and a washer. I also asked him about the filter and he said that there is no such thing. He said that Honda engines do not require one and he's a mechanic there. What's the deal with this elusive filter?

same here, I need to do mine and mechanic said that the automatic tranny does't have filter which is why Acura recommended changing the oil at 30K. Can someone confirm this? not sure if the ATF filter is related to the transmission service.
