Wiper Blade Problems

I was wondering if anyone else had the following problem.

I switched my wiper blades to Rain-X Lattitude the other day (damn northeast rain!) and the driver side wiper isn't working properly. When it goes up, it cleans the window perfectly, but coming back down it leaves a patch about 1"x1" halfway down around the area where the blade clips on. I returned that blade and got another one and same problem. I didn't know if its a problem with tension in the arm, or if the 26" blade was just too big as it doesn't have tension points like a normal blade (though if they make it, I would imagine it would work). Has anyone had this problem, or do you think it could a problem with the arm not being tight enough, and if so, any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Mine does the EXACT same thing. It has been doing it since I bought it and I've had it for a few months now.

It's pretty shitty cause it kind of kills your vision.....why couldn't it be on the passenger side?? I'll email them too, but didn't know if it was just me.

Anybody else have this problem or any fixes?

I've had the problem on other cars, and it defies reality because you'd think since the wiper is close enough to wipe the rain in one direction, it would do so for both.

The only thing I could think is a) the wiper blade arm needs to be tightened or b) the wipers suck.

I'll tell you, I bought PIAA blades, and they work pretty damn well.

I had PIAA blades on my s2000 and they would leave residue (almost like the rubber was rubbing off on to the windshield) that was really difficult to remove.

Maybe the rubber on your blades has hardened in one direction. That's the only reason I can think of for it to work on the up stroke but not on the down stroke. I use Rain-X windshied washer fluid with my OEM blades and they work great. I love how the rain just beads right off.

Both of em did the same thing right out of the package.

I used to use the fluid on my old car, but noticed occasionally the blade jitters a little close to when it's fully up. I've had people say, oh it's because it isn't wet enough, blah blah. But it's a problem both myself and a few friends have had while it's raining too.

I had the same thing happen. The last time I washed my car I applied some Rain-X Original on all the windows. It got rid of the streak... not sure how long the rain x is going to last but it doesnt take long to reapply, I'll just do it every couple of washes.

I use a gel (same concept as rainx but lasts for a year if not longer).
The issue is definitely in the blade itself.

It's pretty easy, just lift the hood, fine the wiper arms. At the end of the arms should be covers that raise/pop off. That should expose the retaining bolt.

I've had a car where that was the issue, and under/over tightening it could cause problems. Look somewhere for torque specs.

I'm not saying that's the definite cause behind your blade failure, but it's def something to check. I would try new blades as well, and make absolutely sure that they are a proper fit.

Good luck, let us know if you still have problems.

Didn't work

Looks Like I'll try treating my windows with Rain-X and if not, who knows
