I was changing out all the halogen bulbs to LED. Disappointing that the only LED concept on the whole car is the LED Mirror Blinkers. Any way I purchased THESE bulbs on ebay. They all fit perfectly and worked fine until I finished installing the last one. They all hyper blink as if there is a bulb burnt out however they are all working. Once I remove one and stick an old one in, they resume the normal flash. not a huge deal, I guess I can leave the old bulbs in the front, just wondering if anyone had anyway of going around it to have all LED and all working. No Error codes btw. Thanks!
You just need to hook up resistors to them to keep them from hyper flashing and your good to go. Check out these guys, they sell what you need and explain how to hook them up and what the hyper flashing is all about.
I want to install them too so can you tell us how they look? Any noticeable difference reall?
Also where did you install them in the back or front turn signals or both? Pics?
I want everything LED but it sounds like most LEDs aren't as bright as the halogen for the brake lights.
Simply go to Amazon to get a resistor, they're super cheap, and you should be good to go.
Yea I will upload pics when I am done. I am still waiting for reverse white LED as well as the 168 side marker LED bulbs. So far I have noticed that for the front turn signal LED, they are not as bright as a regular bulb. The Amber color with a regular bulb is actually better then the Amber colored LED surprisingly. As far as the back lights, I did get red LEDs so it is more of a red than the reddish-pink you get with the regular bulbs. I think they are bright enough for day time use.
So should I not even bother with the LED turn signals?
I have LED on the interior too and agree they're very very bright compared to halogen.
I highly suggest Philips LED for the license plates lights. Just put mine in and love them, very crisp. On Amazon a two pack is $13.
I'm on the fence with the LED turn signals front and rear. The side markers are kinda pointless to even do in my opinion. Unless it's noticeable as LED I may pass on all the exterior lights.
The front may be pointless. I am going to keep the front signals the original. But I am going to go all LED on the Rear exterior. The LED rear turn signals should be good when I get the resistors in. Like i said. They aren't a huge difference just a crisp flash and a deeper red look. as long as you get Red LEDs that is.
I used THESE for my license plate. A lot brighter than the old. Im sure the phillips are way better quality though.
These are the Red LED for 168 and Red Projector LED for 7440/7443. Super bright. This is just the running brightness. They get brighter when brakes applied. The 168 bulb was $6 for 4 and the 7440/7443 bulb was $8 for 4.
Is that 7440 dual filament LED? Post some pics of the turn signal, that's what I want to do really. The 168 is supposed to be slightly dimmer in the housing than the 7440.
Yes the turn signal and the brake light are the same bulb fulfillment. 7440 and 7443. The 168 is the same brightness but less light because it it a much smaller and different type of bulb. Same amount of light per individual LED, just fewer of them.
I didn't want to fuss with installing 4 in-line resistors so I bought the only relay that I'm aware of for our cars from Diode Dynamics: LED Turn Signal Flasher for 2004-2008 Acura TSX
Just plugs right in and normalizes the blinking speed.
It is expensive but it's easy for should work perfectly. I called them yesterday and they confirmed it can be used for LEDs or stock incandescent, which is nice if I ever have to switch back. I got the relay for 4 of these LEDs, supposedly the best amber LEDs right now:
