I am looking to upgrade the stock speakers in an 06 w/ Navi and wanted to make sure I am not overlooking something or if there is a known compatibility issue someone has come across.
Front Doors & Dash: Rockford Fosgate Punch P165-SI (6-1/2" component speaker system)
Q: Just wanted to make sure I am correct in understanding the front doors aren't full range, so this component set would be a good fit rather than a full range door speaker and separate tweeters?
Back doors: Rockford Fosgate Punch P1650 (6-1/2" 2-way speakers)
Rear Deck: Rockford Fosgate Punch P1692 (6"x9" 2-way speakers)
Q: I can only find full range 6x9's, will this be OK I assume?
Misc: Metra 72-7800 Speaker Wiring Harness
Q: Are there other misc accessories I am going to need for this? Door speaker adapters? Good idea to put some dynamat in while the panels are off, or not really necessary in the doors?
Then if I am still looking for a little more, I planned to add a small sub.
Trunk: Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 (Single 10" subwoofer enclosure with 300-watt amp)
Q: I am used to having an aftermarket radio with preouts. Is tapping into the rear speakers for high level input acceptable or is there a noticeable difference in sound quality/response?
Q: This amp supports auto turn-on off of dc-offset from high level speaker output... Is this feature decent, or better to tap into a proper 12v switched power source?
Wiring: Rockford Fosgate RFK8i (8-gauge amplifier power and signal wiring kit)
Can someone with experience give me a sanity check on this proposed layout?
Thanks for your time.
