haha this thread is hilarious. braille auto... very creative irony.
it makes me wonder though, if they transfer their creativity over to their products.

I almost bought a Yellow Top until the guy at the parts store told me how many came back and how much better the Red Tops were for what I wanted. Needless to say, I went with the Red Top. Sams Club has them for about $135. I wish I knew that before hand

Hate to say this but you're asking for it.
I don't get it - why some of you, who know or heard about the issue with the 51 still insist on putting it in --- AFAIK, the problem with the 51 is due to the smaller size.
I mean why would anyone, when there are so many choices - buy something that has a history of problems even thou the maker says "it's fixed now" ??????????
I also have the YT35 like wong05tsx --- zero problem in nearly 3 years.

Just had my d51 die for a second time yesterday. Took it back to batteries plus (bought 12/28/07). Tested at 5v. The guy was gonna just swap it out for a red top 75/25 but couldn't because his boss was there, so he had to charge it first. Went back today and its charged and at 12.77 with 560CCA.
This YT is crap. We will see how long it lasts now. I think ill keep my stock battery with me just in case. It still started the car after 10 months of storage.

i bought it after it was thought the problems were fixed. I really wanted it to be swapped out for a red top but since it was tested OK after a charge it was given back to me. The guy was just doing what he was told which i understand. If it happens again they will replace with a RT.

Just an update on my crappy YT51. The fiance and I were leaving to go look at houses this morning and the car barely started. Had some clicking and slow crank then it started. Need to input navi and radio codes too. Went straight to batteries plus and talked to the same guy i dealt with last time.
Battery tested at over 500 CCA at the time. But he was cool. He walked inside and came out with another YT51. I asked him if i could trade for a RT35. A minute later he comes with the RT.
Im content now and the stock battery is back in my garage. Red top FTW!

my oem battery died for the 2nd time in 2 months, i went for the RT. Not sure if it is related, but my car starts a heckuva lot quicker, and less of that "cranking" sound.

When my YT was new it was there was a noticeable difference in the starting of the car. Felt much stronger. I noticed a difference between the RT and yellow top too. Red started much stronger. I wouldn't say it starts faster just sounds stronger.
