Yellow H1 bulbs for Daytime Running Lights
Hey guys,
Has anyone ever tried using yellow bulbs for their daytime running lights (H1 bulbs)? Does it actually look any different from the stock when you use yellow bulbs for daytime running lights? Pictures would be much appreciated!

Yeah, if anyone has any pics of their DRL with yellow bulbs during the day please post up pics. I wanna see if there is really a difference that's noticeable... otherwise it's a waste of cash for me. Thanks!

It's noticeable from outside but inside you won't notice any difference unless it's dark outside but then you would be turning your headlights on anyways so :/ it's really for the looks if you were to get yellow DRL.

I saw that pic on the Lexus forum too. That yellow looks nice... especially on a PWP colour IMO. Do you guys know what is a best bulb for a dark yellow like this Lexus? I see most people get either two brands: Nokya or Luminics. Which is best for that deep yellow colour?

Most of the lexus guys paint their fog glass or use yellow film best way to get deep yellow with hids too.

For TSX, would we have to take apart the headlamp housing to add that film only on the high beam light? That would be a pain... I'd be happy with the yellow in that pic for my DRL though.

or you could take apart the light and paint the high beam reflector with the yellow paint, ive seen cb accord owners do that

Thanks! They look great in the dark. What brand are you using for your yellow bulbs?
What'd you guys think? Does it look significantly different from stock DRL during the day? I mean that's when most of us use our DRLs, so I think that's when it really matters.

personally, if you just look at it during the day, you cant really tell the difference, but when you're next to a car with stock drl's then yes, its evidently different...but its usually during cloudy/rainy days or when the sun is rising/setting where you can really tell the difference
im using nokya's btw!

Actually, they are not painted or film, Lexus fogs use yellow glass caps or actual yellow lenses.
The caps look like these:
The yellow lenses:
I have retrofitted the Lexus caps on an Accord high beam before for one of my projector retro customers:
The end result is the nice deep yellow:
and about painting the high beam bowl with yellow stain glass....it does not look good at all in my opinion. It comes out looking dirty yellow as I have seen it in person.

Ah i see i know a few friends did paint the glass though. Only for the fogs. Finding yellow bulbs are quite hard. But those yellow caps aren't a bad idea.

Do those caps go over the bulb somehow? Do you then place the bulb and the cap into the headlight socket? If it gives a deeper yellow than regular yellow H1 bulbs, that might be something I can consider.
I'm guessing DRL will never look as deep a yellow as with the high beams on because of the lower wattage?
