Speaker Removal?
hey guys i am replacing the speakers in all of my doors and rear deck. i think i know how to get the ones in the rear. i am kinda confused with the ones in the front though. door panel is off, thats easy. usually you got 4 screws holding the speaker and i cant seem to figure out what holds the speaker in? probably something stupid and right in front of my face. i did search and did go to the DIY and couldnt find anything. hopefully someone can help me outl
thanks

The door speakers are held in by a clip at the top and sits in 2 slots on the bottom (3-points to secure). You can gently wedge the top clip down and slightly into the door panel to remove the speaker. In terms of direction, the speaker moves much like the movement of opening the oven door in a kitchen.

+1 to Horro
If you are replacing your speakers with aftermarkets, don't be afraid of breaking the clips. You have to drill in any aftermarket you get anyways, and the OEM mounts are worthless for that task.
You'll also have to cut the wires to the OEM speaker harness and splice in some regular speaker connectors.
Stock speakers are decent for stock, but aftermarket speakers are MUCH clearer.

thank you very much HoRRo. yes i do agree that the stock speakers are not too bad. but mine are tired, they got 102k of listening on them. the ones in the back deck are blown, and the rest dont sound to good either. so its time to get some new ones. anyone have an review/opinion on polk db's. i plan to do polks in the doors because they seem to me more like a better all around speakers with clarity and highs, mids, and lows. and i plan to do alpine type S in the rear deck because i believe they put out more bass.

I have the Polk DBs 6.5 in the front and rear door. They are much clearer and are a significant improvement over stocks. The highs are a bit piercing at first but they mellow out after a while (my ears are also quite sensitive). Don't get any better for that price range. Ideal speaker if you aren't planning to amp.

Amen to that. A good way to combat the 'shrill' of this tweeter is to knock the adjustment on the crossover down to its lowest point (I think it was -3 DB).
