Transmission Flush

I am trying to get a good gauge on the effectiveness of a transmission Flush

How effective was it?
What brand fluid did you use?
Where did you purchase your fluid from?

If you need to overhaul your transmission because you've damaged something, it'd definitely be effective removing fine debris you couldn't get out. But otherwise on such a new car, it's not exactly a necessity.

Noel is right, on new cars there is no need. On the RSX-S, there is a famous gear grinding problem and when I flushed and topped up with Motul tranny fluid, it helped. I did the same to my TSX too. I didn't use a machanie though since my work is too cheap to get one so what I did basically poured 2L of Honda MTF into the tranny with the drain plug open then filled it with Motul. MTF.

I find that of late, shifting from third to second can be very rough.
Not in tems of the car jerking, I mean gearring into 2nd from third is rough.

That'd be attributed to the transmission fluid type use rather than the need for a flush.

I had 29K miles on mine and did notice that the shifting just didn't seem as smooth as before especially 5tgh to 6th. I changed the fluid and all is fine now...but it did take the new fluid about 20 miles before i felt the difference.

transmission is always neglected.

it has no filter, or cooling system.

in a best motoring video, mr. spoon rec. changing more frequently than oem specs and using magnetic drain bolts to try and keep oil free of debris.

previous discussion of mtf and 5th to 6th shift leads me to believe it's a 6MT, although the OP never actually says.

Bringing back from the dead.

If one is to track the car, or for those AT users, would getting better tranny fluid be better for the car since we will use the SS mode more??
