Increasing HP from 201??

Glad to see an Engine thread here!

Was wondering if there are relatively quick mechanical customizations that can be done to the TSX 2009 engine to increase HP in a safe reliable way??

Say 201 HP to 220HP??

thanks for any tips or links.

I tried looking for a CAI and couldn't even find that... 20hp my not sound like much, but for the TSX its decent.

Im not an expert on the 09 TSX, since I havent had the chance to take one apart yet...

But judging from looking under the hood, and my test drive, the new Airbox looks incredibly restrictive, Removing the Resonator, Debaffling the Stock box and replacing the Paper Filter with a K&N Should give you some gains... a CAI will be needed for that car though.

Considering the relatively low number of mods for the 1st Gen TSX and the direction of the 2nd Gen, I would not be surprised if the 2nd Gen had even less (mods available/companies willing to R&D for mods).

actually 20 hp is exponentially big. thats a 10 percent increase. although it might not be like a twin turbo kit that many 350s and g35s do, but it's still much. i think my target after my warranty is up, i wanna get it up to 285 maybe even 300... and somehow get that awd setup something like what that the jamaican guy has. but u can always wish.. right? haha
