FLP High flow cat~

After 3 ?? 4 weeks? of waiting...(lol, i lost track of how long it took), i finally got the cat from Marcus. But yea, it's worth the wait, since i believe that he'll do a good job on it..

Thanks Marcusss.

And since i work in a body shop, the installation's FREE!! YAY!
Just bolt on easily.

anyway, performance wise, it wasnt a LOT of gain, but just a little..It IS notice-able, but not something that can throw you back into the seat.
Low end's still low as usual..
Felt a little bit more on the Mid-Range and High End.

As for sound, it does get a little LOW tone on my car right now. And yes, i m still on OEM exhaust.

I might get a chance to go to an exhaust shop to get a custom flex pipe done.. (because of the HISSSSSSSSSSING from DC header).

So people's.. with I/H/E,
I am with I/H/C...at converter.. Planning to get the pulley, then i'll hit the dyno. HOpefully to get around/close to 200whp? hmmm.

OFF-TOPIC: Met a LA Detective today at my shop. he was there for estimate. QUite a nice guy, answered questions that i have.. and stuff.
He drove a old version's M3.. Modified.. (RIms, lowered, Sound system..CF hood.. , Not sure what's under the hood tho, but he gonna use it to track..He said he onces modify it to about 500+ hp.. but took it off. -- not supercharge. )
And one of his mod, which i think is the coolest, the SIren!!! LOL, he installed the Police siren in his car.. Damnn.. "sleeper??". @@
Guess i'll have to say GOOD LUCK, if someone happened to try racing him on the road. lol.

He also told me about the bimmer fest? that he went last year, there was like 1400 bmw there. and yeaa, couple or MANY cops around too. End up about 300 bmw got caught for modification, when they are leaving the lot. ==
So, people who loves car meet, gotta watch out~

I agree with you on the initial gains impressions........ However I installed mine about 2 weeks ago and the gains seem to have improved with time. Mine also seems a fair bit louder than before with just the DC header and stock catback especially above 3,000 RPM.
With icebox, header, FLP cat, and exedy lightweight flywheel I can't keep the tires from busting loose in 2nd gear!! It revs very quickly and just wants to keep reving. You can really feel the increased burst when hitting VTEC.
Did you re-install the stock heatshield- not shown in your pictures?

It's a simple bolt-on, not a turbo kit, it won't throw you back to the seat.

On the other car, the HFC quality looks top notch. Have fun.

+1

I had a header installed first and I sure felt some gain, but mine is 05 and has the most restrictive cat ever, so it was hard to feel much of a gain. After I installed the cat, gains were very sweet. I dont see why u upgraded 06 cat tho Its far less restrictive than 04-05 cats are.

On a side note... I wish my RT cat had those tabs for heatshield Cops here in Cali just LOOOOOVE to crack down on us.

nope, didn't put back my heat shield. I didn't have the heat shield be4 already. i took it off quite some time ago because it's creating noise.

Btw, i went out this morning to an exhaust shop to have the DC header's flex pipe fixed.

No more HISSSSSSSSSSSSSING sounds..

however, i actually think my car's slower. lol. Or is it probably just because of the pretty HOT weather today. @@

with the new cat, are you smelling the exhaust at all? does the high flow cat do a good job of cleaning enough to make it not smell? it has the magnaflow core in it i believe, what do you think?

I didn't know cat can.. clean up smells from exhaust.. @@

but no, i don't think that work on mine.
I only think that there's more smell coming out from the exhaust. And deeper tone from it.

I went out to get dinner just now. Actually felt better compare to driving under the HOT SUN!

now, i feel uncomfortable driving without the HISSSING from my DC header. ==
