quick question about intake/exhaust
I got an automatic 08 and want my car to sound more smooth. (NOT like the really loud civics). I don't care about hp gain. What intake andexhaust should I consider if I want a nice sound??

Comptech for both the intake and exhaust.

just installed Greddy SP2 exhaust yesterday.. its discontinued but you can most likely find one used like I did.. anyway I was worried about how it was going to sound, but let me tell you im very very happy.. its very quite exhaust but has a great deep tone to it. hope this helps

What do you mean by more smooth? Do you want it quieter? How is the stock sound not smooth?

I think he wants some noise but more growl than rasp. Comptech sounds decent. HKS Silent Power is "smooth" but expensive. Remember your driving a 4banger, its going to have some rasp. Also, look into building your own. I used a flowmaster 40 series on my little 4banger ranger and it sounded great.

well I have the hps sri and it's whisper quiet unless you push the engine, but if you're cruising you don't here it at all.

If you're wanting the deep tone from hollywood productions, you will need a larger bore on the crank, wider exhaust ports in the head and a 3" exhaust from the collector back. Obviously, more attainable on a v series engine vs inline except for some some german and toyota engines

Yea I'm thinking about this one. I don't wanna wake up neighbors coming home but I do wanna hear some power gassing it on the highway.

Don't worry, you won't be gaining much from an exhaust anyways. haha

Noob question.....
I was thinking of getting the Fujitsubo Legalis R as an exhaust and Comptech headers...would that make a lot of noise? I like a low humming sound but i wasn't sure if that combo changes anything. I heard the Fujitsubo on YouTube and it's the sound that i'm looking for. Any tips or opinions about this? Also, probably get a K&N intake (or would you suggest something better) and reflash.
