Possible to stay on the hot cam profile in a stock 6mt TSX?

With the vtec window being so short (6000-7300rpm) on a stock TSX is it possible to stay on the high lift cam profile on any shifts at all or is it pretty much a lost cause? I know the 1-2 shift is a decent drop in rpms but the 2-3 3-4 etc shifts seem to be much closer, but are they close enough or do you still 'fall out of vtec' on those shifts as well?

You will "still fall out" ... Most of the times.

Get yourself hondatafied and you stay on the vtec cam between shifts. VTEC engagement is lowered to 5000rpm and redline is upped to 7600. IMO, well worth $600.

The reflash is only available for the 04s right? I'm wondering about the 05s and 06s, I guess they're SOL until hondata develops one for them, if they do.

I've always been curious...how do the extra 300rpms sound with otherwise stock setup? with CAI?

I'm completely stock aside from the reflash and I notice no difference in sound. As for people with cai, they say it roars.

Unfortunately the reflash is only for the 04's right now. Sorry I assumed you had an 04.

so without a reflash there's no way for an 05 or 06 to stay on the hot cam profile for any of the shifts...

you could probably get a V-AFC II to lower your VTEC engagement and lean out certain areas of the fuel map (properly tuned on a dyno of course with a wideband lambda O2 sensor) but I'm quite positive that you won't see the gains that you do with the hondata reflash. That and you'd have to hack up your ECU wires to wire in the V-AFC II since there is no harness for it yet.
