Lease-safe Mods?
Hey --
Just picked up a 2006 TSX 6MT...and I love it.
Quick question: what mods are safe to do if I'm leasing the car? In other words, what can I do to the car and easily change back to stock before I return the car? I'd like to do the Hondata flash, CAI (which seems pretty safe), and other simple ones. I guess I can't add a DVD player to the car and easily change it back, right? Anyone in a similar position?
Thanks!

Well Both of the mods you listed void part of the warrenty when shit hits the fan, the Reflash is totally against the lease, but there have been some people who have returned reflash cars, without raising an eyebrow,
CAI is a very easy mod to do and undo, would be a good first start... Lighter wheels, RSB, and some other handling toys can be done quite easy as well

Well, wheels are easy to remove later (and easy to sell too.)
If you plan to buy the car during or after the lease, then do whatever you want I guess. But you could get in trouble if in the unlikely event something happens to the car while its still being leased...my question is why did you lease the car if you wanted to do mods to it?

you should be safe with any bolt ons (intake, exhaust, headers, etc.)
the reflash is hit or miss, some dealers may not even notice, and some may.......so I would weigh my options on that. for now, start with the bolt ons and when you feel the need for "more" then look into it.
you could do the dvd player and then just take it out. get the plug and play doms unit....should be able to install/remove very easily.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Zeeshan, do you have a link for the plug and play DVD unit?
Do you think the USA Spec iPod integration is also easily done on a leased car? I thought I read somewhere that there's drilling involved with that one....

The DICE Link does not involve drilling, so that one should be lease safe... doesnt the 06" have the Ipod hooked up already?

It has an Aux jack, but I'm looking for full functionality with the stereo system.
