Windshield tints.

so i finally had time to get my tints done today - went with 35s all around, BUT.. i also did the winshield with 50s. now everyone's saying that i should take it off cos it's illegal. so my question is, how many of you guys tinted your windshield? and if you've gotten tickets by your local pigs. if it's really that bad, i'll probably bring it back before it dries out completely to have it taken off. the windshield itself was 125$ alone. a waste, if i do decide upon disgarding it, yet it'll save me more money in the long run with those orange papers that donut lovers give out.

What does a fix it ticket for window tint cost. I'd say since you have it on there might as well leave it on until force to take it off, I mean you all ready paid for it might as well rock it for as long as you can.

I got two tickets yesterday for having tints in my two front windows driving on a regular street in NYC. What an ass. But they weren't fix it tickets. Just $60 each though. So be careful, some cops are asses and pull you over JUST for tints.

take it off man or dont even do it. it's a huge safety hazard in my opinion. opposing drivers can't see you and your hand signals when negotiating a stop sign (although you can high beam them), or like negotiating through a crowded parking lot. i take it the only benefits are protectino from the sun or privacy from people...but i think it looks bad and isnt worth it.

I'm surprised the tint shop would even do the front windshield. I've seen a lot of people do a 6" strip on the top but never the whole thing. I say take it off.

Hmm.. Did you get pulled over for another offense? How dark were the tints? I haven't heard of any NYPD pulling people over for just two front window tints before.

Yeah I agree with the safety hazard point if it was also 35% like his other windows but its not its 50% isn't that like vertually clear....

I've been in someones car with a tinted windshield and I couldn't really tell, so I say if its barely discernable and you can see out comfortably at night, leave it its already on man.
Hey you were down enough to spend your hard earned money to have it done be down enough roll wit it chief...

The truck I traded in for my tsx had 0 percent all the way around and 35 on the front. Not just the strip all of it. I never got pulled over the 4 years I had the thing. For starters they may give you a harder time with the car. If its all pimped out and you are young they are going to mess with you. If the car is stock there is a good chance they will leave you alone. Hate to say it but they seem to leave us old guys alone for nonsense like that. Also if you drive like a jackass... Your going to get burnt with that tint on there for sure. I have all of that tint stuff out of my system now. The tsx will be tint free.

Why tint the windshield?! You don't even really see a difference at that angle or directly looking straight at it?!

I don't remember! It was a while back when I first got my car! I felt like every cop was ready to pull me over! I got so paranoid, I would roll down my windows everytime I saw a cop! haha Even when I was driving on the freeway in cold/freezing weather! haha

But they haven't bugged me in a while since that incident! *knocks on wood* IF anything, I actually got those tint tickets because the cop was actually being NICE! I was actually caught for speeding and just gave me a fix-it ticket for my license plate cover and tints! So, it turned out okay! hehe

Yeah, some cops can definitely be a$$holes!
