Tire Blow Out On Freeway :( pics inside

So I was driving to work in the morning headed East Bound on the 60 fwy, when I started feeling the shake on my steering wheel that I had previously thought was my axle going bad, and then the dash started shaking like crazy. So I was about to pull over when the tire blew up lol

The thread part just flew out and hit the car behind me, so I made my way to the shoulder, I got out and I saw the damage, the fender is bent near the sideskirt, the mugen sideskirt is cracked, the back of the headlight tabs are broken, the amber corner on the headlight got loose and broken, the front bumper is lose from the tabs being broken.

I was changing the wheel, and cal trans came to see if I needed help, I said nah I got it, so I pull out my spare and its flat lol, so he says "you sure?" so he puts air in it, and the lookylooks that slow down to see what happened are slowing down to see what happend, and BAM! i hear brakes and a loud crash, I saw an Integra hit a semi, and then another car i think it was a corolla hit the integra. So very interesting morning :/

Glad to read that you are ok. Do you know what caused the blowout? Are the tires new?

+1^ It's quite fortunate you're okay. The last thing you want is a blowout at freeway speeds.

Yeah thanks bro, the car handled very well after the blowout, I managed to get to the shoulder safely, but also, the tire that blew out still has air in it only the thread part got yanked out. You know what I mean? Ill take a pic right now.

the tires had about 75% thread, BUT i did notice a few days ago that the side walls had tiny cracks all around. maybe thats what caused it.

hmm I'm not sure, would I have to make a report to them, and file a police report? no police report right cus there was no accident (well there was but not to me lol) I just call them up and tell them what happend? sorry but I've never ever had an accident or damage to my cars ever and never filed a claim in my life so I don't know what to do exactly lol

Yeah it is unfortunate, but live and learn, Now i'll be more cautious and check my tires atleast every other day, which is what I should have done lol. The bumper Im not worried about cus I have a Mugen front already, was just waiting to get my car resprayed, fender is $80 bucks through my wholesale distributor, and headlight I'm getting the JDM Replica's that marcus has a group buy for.

People are so dumb. Why the hell do you need to slow down to see someone change tires?

I was stuck in traffic once and didn't notice an accident at all. Then I looked over to the other side of the freeway where there was a big accident. I'm like omfg people the accident is on the other side and yall are slowing down?!?!?
