6th Gear

Does anyone else feel that it is a little tough to shift from 5th to 6th. It seems like there is something preventing it from going in smooth. Kinda like if you try to put it into 1st gear while going like 30mph (without letting up on the clutch). It feeks like some sort of lock, i have to pull it pretty hard. No matter what speed im going though it is always tough to put it in 6th gear...

There's been a few times when I wasn't paying close attention that I accidently slipped into 4th instead of 6th. I've found that if I put my hand around the shift nob so the back of my hand is facing more towards me (instead of straight back) that it goes in much more smoothly. I hope you understood my illustration. I couldn't figure out how to put it into words!

This has happened to me too, and I know exactly what you mean. That maneuver works well for anyway who has any trouble.

Yes, shifting to 6th can be a little less smooth than shifting to the other gears in my car as well. It might have something to do with getting caught up in the reverse lock-out. It's still pretty smooth by many cars' standards though.
