Recaro seats anyone?

Anyone out there have Recaro seats in their TSX. I have gotten to the point where I can't stand the seats in my TSX anymore. They are too hard and I cannot get comfortable in them. I just drove 6 hours from Vegas to San Diego and my back hurt when I got home. I almost wore out the motors trying to find a good position. I don't like the electric recline adjust. You can't get it just right. I want and old-school knob adjustment that you can get perfectly set. Anyone have any experience putting Recaros in TSX? I'm concerned about seat heating and airbag problems since the stock units have that. I'm not sure if the Recaros will also have that, especially air bags. BY the way, I have never had problems with ANY other car seat I have ever owned. I drive my Subaru wagon for days and don't get back aches or slide off the seat like I do in the TSX. I find myself pushing on the dead pedal all day trying to keep my butt in the seat especially when cornering.

Thanks,

IB

Exactly what I was thinking. If you really want recaros you may want to get your hands on the seats from the Euro R.

Nachob,

If you really want a softer and more comfy Recaro seat, I would not recommend the Euro-R seat which is essentially a Recaro Sport. While I find the Recaro Sport fairly comfortable, it may be too firm for you if you think the stock seats are too firm.

The most comfortable aftermarket seat I've tried is the Recaro Style. Its padding is a bit softer and it is a wider seat than the Recaro Sport so you don't feel completely held. It comes w/ various options such as heatting and vent system, electric recline for seat adjustment, etc. but no side airbags.

If you want aftermarket seats, there is no way you can retrofit the side airbags to the Recaros. Even if you could, you shouldn't as the airbags may not function properly as they were not designed to be used with non-OEM seats.

BTW, here's a link to the Recaro Style seat I was talking about:

Gentlemen, thank you for your input. I'm not against firm seats, it's just that the TSX seats are just not quite right. It's like the bottom cushion is too flat and firm so you slide forward when braking or cornering and the side bolsters are too wide for my frame though I'm pretty average size. The lumbar support is too high and the electric adjustment for recline is hard to get just right. For those of you that might think I'm a hypochodriac or something, I am 38 years old and have owned 9 cars before this one. The TSX is my 10th car (5th, brand new car) and I have NEVER found it so hard to find a comfortable position on long drives. It is OK for short drives but on long drives or spirited driving, I find the seats lacking. I will try to find a place that has demo seats to try out. Thank you for the recommendation on the style.

But......i thought Racing seats always give back problems, since they are so hard.
