Problem starting car

so i just bought an 05 cgp tsx 6mt. and the only problem i am having is that when i go to start the car sometimes it works. i've searched and i couldnt find anything like mine. like the only way i can start the car is when i push down on the clutch and turn the key at the same time fast. if i dont, i gotta keep trying until i get it right. i cant just do what other regular Manual Transmission people can do and just keep the clutch down and turn the key, just wont work. i also notice a "click" when i push down on the clutch pedal, it "clicks" when the pedal is almost to the floor. what do you guys think it is? i know its not the clutch because i shift fine. could it be spark plugs? i dont think its battery because terminals look good and everything works. i did recieve a CEL code for "emissions, and/or O2 sensor" from trying to start once. i reset it and never popped up again. any thoughts or info would be great. thanks in advance.

edit: by the way, my car is all stock. no mods.

It could be that the clutch switch isn't working properly. The switch lets the ECU know that the clutch is disengaged, allowing it to start. The clicking that you hear is the switch itself.

There was a thread about clutch clicking, and greasing it to get rid of the sound, but not the issue you are having.

i fixed it! working beautifly now!! much thanks to griffojm. i took a look at what you were talking about. first i held my finger on the switch and started the car and bam it worked. the problem was that the thing the pushes the switch was hitting it a little too short. so what i did was silicone glue a water bottle cap to it and now it works just like every other manual transmission. thanks a lot griffojm cause i wouldn't have thought about it. love my car again. =]
