stering wheel controls and lights on shifter

OK I hope I am in the right place don't scream if I am not. I own a 2004 TSX Navi and the lights have gone off that display the Park Drive etc... in the middle console near the shifter. The dealer said it was more than likely a bulb that would cost $5.00 but it would cost about $125 to take apart... any thoughts on that problem.... additonally I bought my car used and never noticed if the controls on the stering wheel ever iluminated.. any thought on that. If anyone knows how I can fix these problems, I would greatly appreciate it.

Steering controls do illuminate in my car so should in yours. The shifter is a blown light more than likely as they said. DIY though, there is a guide on how to if you do a search. The steering wheel I'm unsure as to how that would be changed but couldn't be too hard to find out.

I also have a 04 TSX and my steering wheel control do not like up. I dont think they did on 04s they could have changed that on the newer ones but I am not 100% sure on that.

KBH is neutral and has a clean balanced record.

The bulb is part number 35505-S30-003 (the sixth digit is the letter 'ess' not the number 'five') It is the same part number for both Honda or Acura so you can get it at either dealer parts counter. The same bulb also illuminates the storage bin above your coin tray

I am having the same problem with my 04. I am taking it to the dealership this weekend to get fixed due to a recall. You might want to mention that to the acura dealer.

Steering Wheel control buttons on '04 are silver and don not light up. '05 to '08 the buttons are black and light up.
