CD Player Fail?
I've got a problem here. Let's just say I'm a man for my music, and I almost hate all the DJ's on the radio.
My CD player seemed to have failed on me this morning. I got in my car to go out, and randomly before even playing a CD or anything it showed "CD ERR (Error)." Then when I tried to change all my CD's, it still said the same thing. I turned it off and on many times, still no workie. I even unhooked the battery and tried it again, still didn't work. Then a little later it wouldn't even recognize my CD mode, as if my car didn't even come with a CD player. I would press the CD/Aux button and nothing would happen. I have no AUX, so it's just the CD option.
Thank god I had my FM transmitter so I could play my own music. lol
If anyone could help me diagnose this problem, that would be awesome.
My only hypothese was that the CD fuse may have blown, but I don't think the CD player has it's own fuse, or does it? The RADIO fuse should be fine, I just replaced it the other day. It was a 10 accessory fuse replaced with a 15.. Not sure if that may have been the cause?

This happened to me before. Take it to dealer. When it happened to me, something in the back of the cd player overheated and melted the wires. Don't know how but thats what my dealer said and since it was under warranty it got fixed for free

Hopefully you are under warranty, that's not going to be fun. I will look this evening to see if there are any troubleshooting steps listed for the stereo.

Unfortunately, I have no warranty. Bought it from a private dealer, and they gave me absolutely no manual OR warranty. Here's where I should just cry to mommy and see what she says.
Anyone have an idea on how much this is going to cost me?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter where you bought it from, the warranty should be in effect for 5 yrs/48k miles (from what I remember).
I bought mine from some guy around here, and I seem to remember the CD player going, and had it fixed under warranty. Warranties follow the car, not the owner.
But if it's out of warranty (even though 2010 is only 2 months old), I can't imagine a CD player would be very expensive. Just go to Acura.com, click the Acura Store link (bottom right had corner), and go from there. Or, just google "Acura Parts", and there will be no shortage of dealerships selling OEM parts, with diagrams.

Why don't you buy an Ipod adapter instead of spending $ to fix your CD player?
