Clearance problem for +40 17x8 rims?

I just got a 2005 TSX and a friend of mine has a set of Konig Zero wheels from his RX8 race car that he would sell me for a good price.

They are 17" x 8" + 40 offset with 225x45 Nitto NT-1 tires.

So far I haven't dropped the car but I plan to at some point (not slammed, just an 1" or so)

I know the tires are a little undersized but I expect them to wear out pretty fast and then I'll replace them with a nice set of street tires, probably 225x50 to get closer to stock. I figure if the stock wheel is 7.5" wide and I go up to 8" it will bring the diameter down a little.

I just want to be sure I won't have any rubbing issues or have to resort to fender rolling.

1. 1" drop is nothing. You won't rub at all. If anything, you'll want to drop more, but that is all.

2. Stock wheel is 7" wide i believe

3. Like i said, 1" drop is very small, so no rubbing.

4. Try using search to see what others have to compare. They might not have exactly what you're looking for, but it gives you an idea of what rubs and what doesnt.

Good Luck

I went on Konig's website to look up the wheels my friend has (ZERO) and then went to their "Will it fit my ride" section and they didn't list this wheel for my 2005 TSX.

They did list the Feather in the 17 x 7.5 x 45 offset (another wheel my friend has) but not the Zero model that offers both 17 x 7 and 17 x 8 in a 45 offset?

I'm not as hip on the Feathers as I have a similar wheel on my 91 Miata in a 15" but I don't think it would look right on the TSX.

Both of these wheels sets are off my friend's Mazda RX8 race car.

they don't list it because they are conservative and don't want to recommend a size then have people complain.
