2009 Rev Limiter?

So I noticed something today, I removed my intake resonator and couldn't wait to snap everything back together to hear the sound. So I fire up my car and tach it up (just as I've done hundreds of times on my older cars)... I have a manual tranny btw. So I get in the car, rev it up and it kicks out just as I start hearing the grunt (around 4200 RPM's). It's almost like I hit it right before vtec should kick in. Is this on all 09's? When wheels are moving I'm fine but its just kind of annoying. It's my car I should be able to rev the thing!

Btw, I tried to turn VSA off and same thing.

for the 1st gen TSX, when your're not in gear, the rev limiter is set at 5000rpm. This limit is probably carried over to the 2nd gens.

Not true. I can run it to redline in my 05 6MT while not moving an inch, and with VSA on.

Ok, any 2009 guys can verify this when the 1G guys battle it out? :-)

What year are both your 1G's? Maybe they changed this in the later model 1G's?

4200 is the rev limiter in the 2009 I have ran the 1/8th mile and i found this out then lol it was depressing but at the same time you don't really need much more then that. Not entirely sure why they do it guess its a safety mech.. Either way shouldnt rev it over 2k untill its warm silly :-P

on autos like mine (1st gen) it wont let you rev past 5000 when in neuteral. But in gear (and with reflash) 7600 all the way
