Acura tsx 2009 recall
I own a 2009 acura tsx, automatic. I received a letter from acura about a product update:

It said "Valet key opens the trunk" Apparently, they said its a manufacturing error, where the valet key can open the trunk using the trunk lock behind the left rear head restraint. I know Acura said they can replace the trunk lock by installing a trunk key cylinder kit, free of charge.

Has anyone receive a letter like this or is aware of something like this????

yup, i received that a long time ago. not going to bother with it because i never valet my car nor do i leave anything of value in the car at the first place.

omg i read the title of this thread and i almost crapped my pants....but this is not a big deal at all..thought it would be a bigger problem like my car might blow up on me or something

do north american acura operations run both US and Canada? if so then i am sure you will get yours soon. keep in mind that i got my car over 7 months ago and i just received it this week.
guys, seriously, its an aluminum mug with A symbol on top, ACURA in the middle, and ADVANCE on the bottom lol.

I better get a freakin' mug man! Even though, i got all kinds of freebies at the dealer (shirt, mug, etc..).

I love the way you can ask for all kinds of random stuff when you're buying the car, but as soon as you sign, they show you the exit... Gotta love car buying...

Just got my mug this week. Very nice. As for the recall, had mine done several months ago.

Wish my TSX was here. Had her 7 months now and some idiot plowed into the back of me at a stop light a couple weeks ago. She is being fixed this week.

I haven't received a mug or a recall letter... What up wit dat? Plus, the only freebie i got at the dealer was 2 keychains. I don't even USE keychains... haha, o well, at least i ended up with a sweet car.

Maybe i'm weird, but I kinda look forward to recalls. Free service and possibly a loaner vehicle. Hey, new cars come with a warranty for a reason
