I wonder why people dont take a minute to register :D

You'll get more of them to take the trouble if you keep doing the kinds of things that will "hook" them better. Pardon my slight redundancy, but as long as you're asking, I gotta tell you that it would almost certainly help if you continue working to have more of the text of each page show up immediately when the page is clicked, rather than the viewer having to scroll down to really see anything. Little things like this can make a huge difference. A large degree of this could be accomplished just by decreasing the empty "vertical spaces" at the top of the page. (Not that I know whether that would really be easy.)

A few years ago, I had some stock in a cranberry juice company that had a great product. However, the labels on its juice were stupidly designed, and very user-unfriendly. I wondered how they thought anybody would buy the stuff with such poorly-designed and poorly-written labels .

I had half a mind to give them a call and tell them about it, but I assumed (rightly, I'm sure) that they would have blown me off. Anyway, the company promptly went into the toilet. I still blame myself for not making the phone call. As well as for buying the stock just because their juice was great. :D

P.S. It also wouldn't hurt to improve the spelling of "imrpove" on the Forums Home page. :D

BTW if I were to make a list of things I've been wrong about, it would be a much longer list. Your mission is to tell the right things from the wrong things. :D

if we get rid of "Welcome to TSXClub.com Acura TSX discussion forum" we can make it go up alittle more.. What do you think?

No -- seems to me that you do need something like that, as we've discussed.

I was thinking of compressing other aspects of the "heading," like mainly just the empty space.
(That's mainly what I've meant when I keep saying "vertical space.")
Also, even though that red TSX is nice (and nicely placed), to the extent that it takes up quite a bit of "vertical space" and therefore takes away from actual page-text that might be seen immediately when the page is clicked, I wouldn't have done it. But I really don't know -- it's certainly very nice. Of course, you be the judge of all this. Obviously you know the competing considerations -- on one hand, it's good to show more text immediately, but on the other hand, it's good to have a nice "heading." So, I don't know. If it was me, I'd sacrifice almost everything else up top (except ads, of course :D ) for the sake of showing as much "actual page" as possible, while still having a nice and effective heading -- "effective" meaning, among other things, that it gives you the best chance to show up on Google. Regarding which, I still think, you might be better off putting the "Acura TSX" part even earlier in that heading, preferably at the very top if possible. But, please understand, while the way I express myself might sound strong, I really don't know. These are just ideas.

And it's great that you're asking for our ideas, and that you're so genuinely interested. Where I come from :D, you basically get told to f*** yourself for having ideas or asking questions.

I will try to see if the web designer can shorten the logo for us. If not we will have to use our old one for the time being site looks abit empty without it..

Believe me, you're not the first. :D

What I'm talking about..... (explained on other threads, where we first got into this).....

Before the recent changes at the top of the page (I'm calling it the "heading" since I don't know the actual term), when you first clicked onto a page you couldn't see ANY of what I've called the "text of the page," i.e. the real stuff that the person wants to see -- all you could see was the heading until you scrolled down, which IMO was a significant downer. I think there's very little doubt that you "grab" people better when they can see some of the actual stuff immediately, and the more they can see right away, the better it is. You might think it doesn't make much difference, but I'd bet you that it does.

On the other hand, I agree that now it looks kind of bare. Some readjustment is needed. But IMO y'all are on a good track with this.

I think that would turn away people more. How about allowing casual browsing for guests, but only registered users can search, or use the new posts feature?
