So, Soopa says I wasn't banned:

(And Justin says it too, which means he's misinformed on this. Which must be an all-time first -- Justin misinformed??)
Well, what do you call it when you try to post, but suddenly your posting doesn't appear, and you try three more times, and still the posts don't appear? And then you try to log in, but you're blocked from logging in?
IT'S CALLED BEING BANNED.
He says I resigned. Not true -- because he didn't let me. I was indeed going to withdraw, and I was trying to post an explanation. I'm guessing he anticipated what I was going to do, or maybe SAW it (is that possible??), and he banned me first.
That post that I was trying to do -- since I wasn't being allowed to post it on your site, I put it on here, in the Off-Topic thread "Banned on a-tsx.com." That was my initial reason for coming here. There was no way for me to try to talk to you any more except through a different site.
Here's the story.
There was a thread about "the old site," actually started by a mod. A good little thread. Soopa closed it.
I said something about it on "Comments & Suggestions." Pretty nicely.
The entire Comments & Suggestions forum disappeared.
I did a thread asking about this. Soopa confirmed that he had deleted the whole forum. (Actually he said he didn't "delete" it, he just put it where we couldn't see it.) I thought I was being pretty nice -- you could check it out -- but within minutes, Soopa closed the thread (also flamed me a bit of course), and threatened me with banning if I didn't shut up. He didn't say ban, he said "revoke your posting privileges," which I would say means "ban."
Similar things had occurred before, and enough was enough. I prepared the post explaining why I was withdrawing from the site.
But he banned me first.
Right after that, he put the Comments & Suggestions forum back on the site, after having said nobody but me cared about it.
I do miss the site a lot, and I miss many, many of you. But I don't miss the ongoing specter of being subjected to such abuse. Nor the BS.
I was trying to be a productive member of the site, and for me that means occasionally contributing ideas about the site, and raising questions. That's not a reason to be slapped down and flamed by the site owner. And this kind of abusive stuff is so alien to the site in general. If any "regular" member acted that way, he'd be banned.
I imagine some of you also would prefer a different approach from the owner, but don't care enough to make anything of it, maybe aren't bothered by it at all. Good for you, bad for me. It's a great site. I think it would be greater if the approach from above were nicer, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe nice guys do finish last on the internet. I don't think so, but I suppose it's possible.
I do intend to keep visiting. And maybe some of you want to visit here now and then, maybe you'll like what you see and become active members. Don't worry, I'm not recruiting, just being hospitable. Which I think is a good thing.
Regards -- Larchmont.
