View Full Version : Help! Newbie Question
Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a TSX in the next few weeks and the first thing I'm doing is adding new wheels, can you please help me out whether or not these will fit?
18x7.5 5x114.3 Offset +45
I have no idea what questions to ask when buying rims, so any help would be much appreciated!
P.S. Will lowering the car after installing these rims affect anything? How can I be sure I'm not causing myself any problems?
Thanks guys,
Kev

Yeah, those will fit fine. They'll stick out a little but that will be rectified when you lower it.
What size tires are you planning to add? You can go either 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. 225/40 is smaller than stock and will look funny till you drop it. 235/40 is very close to stock....
The tire size is still up in the air, obviously I want whatever will look best keeping in mind I will be lowering the car between 1 and 2 inches roughly, the problem is everyone around here keeps telling me to go with 215/45/18. Obviously you guys know best, so anyone with 18inch rims, which tires sizes are you running? Including drop what is my best bet? Thanks alot!

thats absolutely OK. but my suggestion is get 18x8.5 all around and it should not roll you fender.
offset 43-48 would be fine (no roll the fender)
even if you drop it a lot.
cheers

regarding the tires ... my '2 cents' : dont go bigger than 40
215/40 is ok
215/35 would be better :)
about the lowering :
try to drop until your rear without finger gaps and 1 finger gap for the front. hope you get my point.
once again .. just my 2 cents
Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it, so just for the full recap;
Rims: 18x8.5
Tires: 215/40/18
Offset: 45
So keeping within all these guidelines I shouldn't run into any problems at all?
The rims I had my heart set on only come in 18x7.5, can I go with these rims? And if so which tire will fit perfectly?

215/35/18?
Why would you suggest a tire that is over 1.5" smaller in diameter than stock??
