I'm around that 25-30 range... if it's a Type S I'd do it :)

The ONLY 4banger over $25K I would consider is the S2000 BABY! Especially if over $28 + $2k for navi... get lost... remember this is acura's crossover performance luxury vehicle...

Acura's in a strange market position. The quality is luxury or near luxury, but their prices currently undercut the competition by quite a bit (compare a TL type-S vs. BMW 330i fully loaded, for example, yes the Bimmer is better in almost every category, but it's $8k more give-or-take), and their reputation is near luxury (not in the same boat as Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus, for example). They want to improve upon their image as a luxury car (as the article about punishing dealers that advertise Acura's for less than MSRP indicates), but they know their consumers are more price-conscious than the competition's.
I wasn't very interested in any of their cars besides the RSX before the TSX was announced (I like smaller cars, would rather buy a home before I buy a $30k+ car, etc.) and the TSX seems like a great compromise if it's around $25k. If they price it at $28 then it's priced the same as an bare bones 325i and a partially loaded A4, which I don't think they want to do. TSX seems like a great value at $25k and only a so-so one at $28k. The standard options are nice, but it's still a 4 cyl.
I'm hoping that Acura will come to their senses and the TSX will be priced on the lower end of the $25k-30k range and that there will be one in my future :D

I think if Acura wants to grab some sales, they had best price the TSX near the $25k end without nav. Mazda RX-8 is around $27-30 well equipped, with a 4-yr 50k warranty, with 250 HP and 6-second times to 60, with arguably a more aggressive and attractive style. My last Acura was an Integra GSR and I'd love to rejoin the ranks, but their price point needs to be right.

I'm not sure about the price other than Mazda wants to make some inroads into the 350Z and G35 coupe territory I suppose and wants to price it aggressively. U.S. economy is soft , unemployment is up, who knows? The car has been getting solid reviews all the auto journals. Hey, a reasonably priced TSX Type-S would generate some heavy interest from us enthusiasts who happen to need room for a couple of kids, too. I sure hope Acura VIP's read this site regularly!

I agree with all of you. Anything over 27500 with navi is too high. Its a nice car but come on. Price it right Acura
I think the pricing should start right after RSX type-S price, so about 24,000 base would be reasonable

the car is worth every penny no matter what deal you get
I bought mine for 28,890 with Nav, and fog lights and protection package. The quote for the car was 28k even, then I added the fogs and prot. package to bring me to that total.
So yes I would by it for over 28,000, the NAV model anyway.

I paid $26,500 for mines back in May 2003. I wouldn't buy it if it was $28k because there are so many better cars with V6 power at that price. Not worth the price for a 4 banger.
I agree Chen that a lot of other cars are more powerful at the 28k price mark, but I still would buy TSX. Take 2k off the price I paid (28,890) for the Navigation model and you have 26,890 as final price, which is only some change higher than you paid. Think of it like I spent 26, 890 for the car, and spent another 2k for a really cool computer system to go in it.

See more and more people are seeing the intrinsic value of the tsx....

through carsdirect.com... their price lies in the $25Ks... i don't think that includes the tax and all that stuff, but nonetheless, it's still "under" $26K.
No, $28k was out of our agreed range. We got a 5AT with nav and protection package for $27.3k + tax/tags.
