hi guys~~~i need some professional advice for my black TSX

1.How ofter do u clean(using Zaino) the leather seat??Do we have to clean it in a period of time (like twice a year)or just clean it when u feel the seats are dirty?

2.What kind of "soap" is the best for washing a black car?? can u tell me some of the brand?? (i just know Zaino for now.....>.<)

3.and wt is the best "partner" of the soap?? because i dont want to hurt the paint on my car.....

4. Is there any Zaino store in Vancouver??

lol, as a Recent Zaino Converter myself... Id say either just use Zaino or Mothers (was a huge mothers fan before I converted)

the problem with Zaino is they are relatively expensive, and You can only use Zaino products with Zaino products, I'm suppose to use Zaino Soap only, and I can not use Conventual Wax at all only Zaino Wax products, however the car looks f**king fantastic.

Zaino is only available online, and for Canadians the Website is:
http://www.zaino.ca/

the Website explains a lot about the product's... With a Black Car, your gonna need to invest in their or another "Scratch Remover"... If you dont go the Zaino route, Turtle Wax makes a great Remover/filler... that I would highly recommend.

Try Meguiar's NXT car wash soap... or Griot's Garage car wash.. Either one is pretty slick and very "soft" on the paint. NXT car wash soap "should" be widely available at your local auto parts store. I get mine at my local Wal-Mart no less.

I use a 100% cotton chenille sponge, though a "chenille-type" microfiber sponge would work just as good. Try to stay away from a regular sponge, that's the most important item.

Almost all modern day clear coat is so soft that if you even blink at it, it'll scratch. Honda and Lexus paints are some of the softest in my experience so treat it as gently as you can.

Hope this helps,
Mike

If you were in TO, there's a hair dressing shop (i kid you not) that sells high end waxes including Zaino. They even sell that little jar of Zaino for $400.

really?? cant use it if the car hv wax !! :tard:
so.....Mr.Clean is not gd to use, right??
i think i will go for Zaino, do u guys think the Zaino Ultimate Kit is worth to buy? or just the Zaino Total Kit?
http://www.zaino.ca/kit2.html

MemphisRheins

Id go with the Total... I have the equivilent of that... just not in a package form... I just washed my car... I love it lol... My friend has done her makeup using my spoiler lol... Zaino is just amazingly reflective... its a lot of work, but its worth it...

Klasse is supposed to be just as good, but its a All in one Wash and Wax... its supposed to be just as good, with less work... but ive never used it... so thats just something to think about.

You sure that wasn't the old kit? The pro version said the soap will NOT strip the wax.

I used Klasse AIO then 2 coats of HG last week.
1) AIO does remove old wax. You could see old wax residue when you buff off AIO.
2) HG is good, but hard to remove (left for 8 hrs after the 1st coat). In the process of buffing off the HG, I need to rub very hard and I feel I am creating lots of micro scratches on the HG coating. Anyone have the same experience using Zaino or it is easy to remove?

I have a PWP and the paint is 1/2 yr old. So far, I could not see much difference than P21S, probably because the paint is relatively new and the car is PWP.

I used to use P21S and I wash the car using Meguiar's Golden wash every other week. I feel Meguiar's Golden wash washes P21S away like dish soap (cannot feel the wax smooth surface anymore after the wash). Anyone has similar experience???

I expect Meguiar's Golden wash could not was Klasse HG .... that's why I switch.

4. Is there any Zaino store in Vancouver??

Downtown Autospa - they're just off Main & 5th

http://www.downtownautospa.com/products.htm

They usually have a pretty good selection and stock of Zaino products. I'd only purchase from them if they have what you're looking for in stock; they're not very good in getting back to you on ordered products or keeping up with estimated delivery dates.

That's why you don't get a black car. If your not willing to put the time or effort into keeping it clean, black was the wrong color for you. Having a black car is high maintenence (like having a high maintnenece GF). You need to spend time washing, waxing and cleaning black. There is no '15min wash' job for black cars.

You should have gotten Silver or White.

Do any of you guys use the S100 wax? If I heard correctly, it's mainly used as a motorcycle wax (harley's)... And from a little research, it's cheaper than Zaino..

I just wanted to know what are good and bad combinations of products to use together.. First hand experience is much appreciated! =)

There's distinct steps that everyone's telling you to do here. The first step is washing. Wash carefully and use lots of water. Hose off as much dirt as you can first. Use the two bucket method (one for the clean soapy water, another to rinse out the dirty sponge and hold the dirt, and use it frequently). Use a good sheepskin or chenille mitt and a good car wash solution, like Meguiar's Gold Class. The key is to minimize the amount of contact with the car - the more contact, the more likely you are to get scratches. Dry with good towels, like fresh clean cotton towels or microfiber drying towels, to avoid introducing new towels - be sure you didn't wash or dry them with fabric softener as they may leave a residue on your car's paint.

The second step is to repair - fill in any scratches and polish back to an even shine throughout the finish. This is generally more difficult and can take a lot of elbow grease or a machine to do properly, especially if you have really deep swirls. Products like Zaino Z5 fill in the scratches, but products like Menzerna will actually polish the paint by grinding out the paint back to a level finish.

The third step is to protect - this is where waxes and products like Zaino, Klasse AIO and Meguiair's NXT come in. Protection won't prevent scratches from coming back (use proper washing and drying technique to prevent most from coming back), but they will help promote the longevity of your finish, and good products can also make it easier to wash your car next time as well as bring out the best in your car's finish. When protecting, I find the most important step is the prep - a good wash and a good clay if necessary make a huge difference in how good the protection looks once it's finished.

Hope that helps.

S100 is sold for Harley motorcycles and is the same as P21s, which is sold for cars, but the S100 is cheaper. I believe S100 is a natural wax, whereas Zaino is a synthetic polymer. If this is correct, then Zaino should last longer since natural waxes tend to degrade faster in the environment (literally melts off your car).

You should try to avoid mixing natural and synthetic products, as they don't tend to bond to each other very well. That's why Zaino recommends a very thorough cleaning to strip off all natural waxes before applying. However, once the Zaino has been applied, bonded and cured, I've heard that you can top off with a natural wax as it will just sit on top of the Zaino. Some people do this to add more depth and warmth to the shine, as they feel Zaino doesn't do that sufficiently on its own (provides more reflection versus depth).

I don't use natural waxes, prefer Zaino as I find one application tends to last a long time for me and I prefer the durability (and don't have time to always reapply waxes). I applied Z5 only (the swirl removing product) last summer and didn't have time to properly apply Z2 (the final coat), but the car's held up beautifully since then even without it. Zaino takes a long time to apply though.

Really, use what works for you. All of the products discussed in this thread are good products. I think the most important step is not what product you use, but how well you did the prep. If there are imperfections in your paint, it doesn't matter how good the wax or whatever you use is* - if you can fix all the scratches first and then protect, you will get terrific results.

* With the possible exception of some cleaner waxes that provide some paint conditioning properties while protecting at the same time, like NXT, but these cannot save your car's finish on their own if the damage is too severe.

I forgot to mention that you should really check out Blackfire for your dark cars. Polymers that outlast any carnuba wax, and a deep liquid gloss finish with amazing reflections. Get it at www.properautocare.com
