hey guys. i just bought a 2006 silver tsx (with navigation) a few weeks ago. i have a 12" kappa perfect infinity sub (300 watts) rms and a kenwood amp (150watts rms x 2 channels) from my previous car and a ported q-logic box.
i've been thinking about putting it in my tsx but i don't know if i should. going from all aftermarket audio to the "stock" tsx audio system is obviously a "downward" step. to be honest i sort of miss the piercing treble and pounding bass :p .
well anyways, if i do go for a system, i'd most likely not mess with the headunit due to the numerous complications with the other cool features in the car. i'm not sure on how i'd get a signal to the kenwood amp. i guess i could use a LOC if i can't find anything else. i heard there is a way to tap into the factory amp but i don't know who to ask about it.
i think the audio system in the tsx is pretty good. not great, but better than average. i wish it woulda came with at least a small 8" sub where the 6x9"s are, but hey thats just me.
so i ask those of you who already have done what i just described (amp, sub, speakers, keep stock headunit). i'm worried that i won't like it. i don't want to spend all that time and money to get something i'm not satisfied with. i know all of you know what i'm talking about ;) . i'm also worried about trunk rattle! so tell me about that if you guys know about it.
i think thats all. i'm a newbie by the way so don't judge me too hard ;) . i really like the tsx so far. the only thing i'd complain about is the audio system and having to put in premium gas. and i also think the the 04-05 rims looked nicer than the 06 but that doesn't bother me that much. i think for 30k the audio should have been way better. iono thats just me. and for the premium gas thing, its just straight up expensive to put premium for a 4 cylinder. $40-45 for a full tank is a little much for me. one thing that would have been cool was to somehow get the song title and artist onto the navigation screen when using your ipod to play music. its sort of dangerous to look back and forth to the road and ipod just to change the song or artist. well thats my 2 cents. hope you guys have a nice day and i'll try and help you guys with your questions when they arise the best i can ;)
