View Full Version : Reverse lights and 12v socket.

Well, I finally had to take my car into the dealership.

The first problem involved my 12v accessory socket located next to the red "This Is Not An Ashtray" tray. Everytime I plugged my phone charger into that socket, the 15A fuse would blow. It was a minor inconveinence, but I could live with it. I really didn't want to have to deal with the service department at the Acura dealership in town. After hearing about so many horror stories of other service departments, I really didn't think I had too big of problem.

But then I ran into my second problem. Over the past few weeks, I began to notice that when I would put the car into reverse, the reverse tail lights would light up sometimes, or not light up at all at other times. Well today, the lights decided to not light up at all, no matter how many times I would put the car into reverse. This is a slightly bigger issue, since I do care that others behind me know when I am backing my car up.

So the car currently sits at the dealership, waiting to be looked at. This is the same dealership that had a "technician-in-training" (a.k.a. the designated car washer of the group) drive the side of an RL into a stationary pole while coming out of the service bay for a car wash, and wrecked another car a few weeks before that (TL?)...both customer cars. Needless to say...it was a woman driver. I hope the dealership is able to at least fix the small annoyances on my car and get it back to me in one piece.

On the plus side. I got an 2006, Glacier Blue, 5-speed AT, non-nav, TSX as a loaner car. You can find my small review here...http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=194509#post194509

Why? Were you the one that destroyed the side of the RL when coming out of the service bay? Just kidding!

So here is what the dealer found...

"Customer states the reverse lights do not come on...
Check and advise
Checked and found faulty reverse switch (Part Number 28700-PWL-003)"
Work completed under warranty.

and

"Front power outlet is popping fuses?
Check and advise
Checked and found the cars cell phone charger is blowing the fuse. Tried several other power cords and adaptors and they all worked fine. Fuse is new at this time."
Work completed under warranty.

So, it's nice to know that there was nothing extremely wrong with the car. A big thumbs up for Pikes Peak Acura in Colorado Springs. Also many thanks to Paul Jensen for putting up with me.

:ben:

Also noted that technician 975 did the courtesy exterior car wash. So far, the car is still in one piece...ha ha ha.

Noooooo....not ALL women drive like crap! I've seen a few men who don't know how to drive well either! Can't make a direct statement like that...it's a bit offensive to us women! :p No worries, I won't run you over when I see you on the road! I'll race you though! hahahahahah jk :p

I don't wanna start a war here but my opinion on Women drivers.........

In order to drive on the roads you need certain types survival instincts. Men just have it better than Women. The survival instincts thing is not something I'm comming up with , its been a known as a fact. It has something to do with evoloution, cave men and shit, I really don't know the full story but the facts remain that Men are better in this particular department.

Driving is like fighting a war, you have to know whats happening 3-4 moves ahead, you have to be alert and you have to have incredibly fast reflexes and a huge amount of common sense. Now this is taking a Man and Woman who are trying to drive safetly, not racing and driving reclessly.

This is just my opinion, although you are reading this from a guy who got hit from behind on 6, yes that's right 6 different occasions all by Women while stopped at a stop light or stop sign minding my own business waiting for the light to turn green, so I could be a little biased........., maybe a little but this is my take on the Women VS Men driving issue. I do think Men are better drivers because Men have better survival instincts and reflexes. But Don't get me wrong, Women do a lot of, a large amount of other things better than Men can however, driving is not one of them.

^^^^ hahahahahahahhaa No worries, I respect other people's opinions on things! But I think everyone has their own opinions regardless! Although you did make a valid statement in regards to the evolution of men as far as survival skills, that is true! Women's roles in the primitive days is also, still quite evident in our modern times! Women are still thought of as the homemakers while the men are the hunters and gatherer's aka "bringing home the bacon" sort of role! There are still a lot of chauvanistic pigs out there! It's unfortunate that even until now, different countries still practice the dominant male roles as women are placed in their submissive roles! Not much has changed throughout the centuries, huh?

But the thing is, you also have to think about age, race, etc when it comes to driving. I have to admit, there are certain "TYPES" of people who are labeled as bad drivers, but saying that MOST women are is a bit harsh! One of my older brothers and dad have been in numerous accidents and the ONE accident I have ever been on, wasn't my fault! I can easily say that men are bad drivers given what I said about my bro and dad, but I won't! I guess, in reality....there is always going to be a DOUBLE STANDARD on things and women are always and will be prone to all of those!

So, I can't really argue as much since the person that hit me was a woman! haha But either way, we all have our views and depending on experience and your own beliefs, we are always going to perceive things on how WE view things! hehe We are entitled to our own opinions! Simple as that!

But I can still kick a guy's a$$ any day! hahahahahahahahaha jk :p
