I have an 05 TSX and so far with the exception of the vibration problems I am having, I love the car. I first took it to the dealer and told them the tires felt out of balance and the car pulled to the left. They asked me if it started before or after I put after market wheels on it.I told them before and they said the tires were directional and sometimes pulled, they balanced rotated and aligned it and all was well for a while.I ended up taking the car back to Les Schwab where I bought the wheels because the problem never really went away. The steering wheel vibrates at different speeds and at different times,it is never constant and never at a set speed.L.S has had it back in no less than 10 times for rebalance etc and nothing seems to work,I even replaced the Michelin tires and it was good for a day or two and then started again.I drove it 50 miles at 40-70 mph to work and all was great,on the return home from work i was getting on the freeway and I thought the front end was coming apart, then in about .5 miles it quit and was fine for several miles.I took it upto about 70 and it vibrated again like it was out of balance,I know the guys at Les Schwab think Im nuts cause they cant always duplicate it.Any ideas or suggestions? Its driving me crazy!Oh,by the way,the guys at LS insist it isnt the wheels and tend to agree with them.

^^^^ maybe you messed up your alignment going over a huge bump or something! :donno:

yeah...it doesnt take much to throw off the alignment....just takes one hit to the curb the wrong way.....everyones car at sometime is gonna pull and the more u think about it ...the more you think its pulling....no ground or cement is exactly flat...i thought mine was pulling but i turned the corner and it stopped....i dont know..thats just my 2 cents

the problems he's experiencing wouldnt be just from somewhat off alignment.

its not the alignment,it vibrates, shudders at various speeds and at various times,no rhyme or reason.

Put the stock wheel back and see do you still have the same issue. Maybe you need a hub ring. Otherwise your rim is bend

I know, I was just throwing out suggestions! Is that okay? Thanks! *sarcasm* :p

There's been a few topics regarding shaking and vibrations. Maybe you should check out those threads.

Here's one that might help:

It might be an engine problem! Either way, you need to get that checked out, probably from a different shop or dealership to get a second and third opinion! There's a lot of mechanics who talk and talk and don't really know what they're talking about! They'll even say things just to milk you for some cash to get something fixed that isn't even broken. So be careful and good luck!

I have hug rings already and that didnt fix it, the next step I guess is like you said, put the stock rims back on and see what happens!

Put the factory wheels back and report back. It could be faulty constructed wheels with a poor geometric balance.

I will do that!

It might well be your tires. Some tires, although brand new, have manufacturing defects in them. Kumho's are famous for their inconsistent quality control, but have since try to addressed it.

The wheels may also be the other possible area to look at. The lug nuts are properly seated and torqued?

Thirdly, have your dealer check your steering rack system.

If you engine is having issues with controlling vibration, then it would be a big issue. but in general, 4 cylinder engines are generally not "smooth" running just by the nature of it's architecture.

hmmm.. sounds similar to my CSX issue.. (when i upped it to 17s).. in order for the 17s to fit, I had to add a spacer. SO i did.. as it drove it shook violently.. almost undrivable.. took it to a tire shop and the mechanic basically said.. 'it's cuz you simply inserted the spacer between the wheel and hub without permenantly affixing it to the hub'..so he used something to glue it down to the hub and then put the wheels back on... the shaking was eliminated completely. BUT i dunno if this applies to hub rings.

glue the hub ring!! how about if you need to put the stock wheels back???? also after glue the spacer, what happen if you decide to go for some other wheels with lower offset!

I had plastic hub rings before and we tried aluminum as a last resort and the problem is now gone! So ask for the aluminum rings as apposed to plastic.
