Ive had my carbon hood(vis) for about 2 years now and its starting to fade from the sun....i had the same hood on my old car for 4 years with no fading....what can i do to get rid of the fade? Should i just buy a new hood? Can i buff this out? I have the edges of the hood painted pwp so buying a new one is a big process.....does anyone have any ideas?

thats a possibility....but since i have painted the edges of the hood....they would have to sand the old paint apply new paint cause it would leave a second layer lip...but i will consider it....thanx

I thought you can take off the clearcoat and re-clearcoat the CF again, then the fading will be gone, no?

Im not sure....who can do that....body shop? vis? If im correct though...when you take the clear coat off by sanding, you take the risk of damaging the carbon fiber?

You won't damage the weave ... Yes, get a re-clearcoat. This time, make sure it has UV protection.

just a thought. cant you just buy a new one? a shop will charge a similar amount to strip and reclear a hood. gluck
