First time I hit the remote's lock button twice...the lights flashed, the horn blew...not a beep, but a regular horn sound. Now there is no horn sound, but there is a beep along with the lights. Is that normal? Reading the manual doesn't really help as sometimes it says horn beeps (does the horn beep or the remote?)...another time it says the horn sounds.
If I hit the panic button, the horn does sound (like a horn, not a beep).
2006 TSX...
Thanks, Linda S

Your supposed to have a beep when arming the car and in panic mode the horn will go off.

I think shes saying that when she presses on the lock twice she sometimes gets a horn while other times getting a beep. Thats weird.. I have a 05 and it always beeps

I think she needs to reiterate her request. It sounds to me like she had the horn sound usually in the past (some other cars) but now it's just a beep, and the manual still says "horn"
The 04 models use the actual horn as the locking indicator when you lock it twice. In the 05 and up, the horn is no longer used for the lock notification. Instead, they made a more subtle beep sound.
Using the panic option will always initiate the pulsed horn sound, all year models.

I'm not quite sure what the question is asking, but let me try to help you out...hehe
I have an '05 and when I lock my car, it usually is a BEEP! If you hear a honking and lights flashing when pressing your remote key then you might've accidently pushed the PANIC BUTTON! That is the only way you will cause that UNLESS, you were inside your car, locked the doors without the key in the ignition and you hear the same honking and flashing of the lights....then the only way you can disarm that is to unlock your doors. I think that's the anti-theft kicking in! So, make sure when you get into your car, stick the keys in the ignition FIRST, then lock your doors!
And if those weren't the possible causes, then you might want to have your car looked at by the dealership and make sure there was no wiring problems with the locks and such! Good luck!

The horn on the 2006 TSX sounded the first time I locked the car w/the remote..since then it has been a beep. So you are answering my question which is basically what is it supposed to do? I do not have a clue why the horn sounded the first time, but both of us heard it. It is possible I accidently hit the panic button...it sounds like I must have done that.
Thanks..sorry it wasn't clear that I was talking about the TSX the entire note.

my experience is, when my hood is not closed fully, or doors are not closed fully, i press lock on the remote twice, the horn doesnt sound. usually it sounds.
ps: mines 04 so theres no beep for me, always the louda$$ horn... :/
u might wanna check if the doors, hood, trunk are closed fully, i dont know how does the 06 alarm system's setup, so, just a thought.

Yeah, that's usually the case when you don't close a door or trunk....you can't activate your remote lock! But I think she just accidently pressed the PANIC BUTTON the first time since she now hears the beep when she uses her remote to lock/unlock her doors!
