Not sure if TSX R Us wants to take on another assignment but...

Actually anyone with knowledge in this area is welcome to submit.

Looking for a site icon so when you save the TSXClub link from the browser to the Windows desktop (possibly MAC?) it has something more than a generic "e."

Don't know what format this is as MS only lists "icons" in the properties window when you attempt to change, so its not a gif.

Any takers?

Thanks

Hmmm...I've created icons before to replace folders, exe, etc. But haven't done any that are linked to a website. If someone can give me an idea as to what I need to know to create one, I can try to come up with something. The googlemobile took me all over the place...:(

I just looked at an eBay icon that came with a Mouseware program from Logitech, it ends in an ".ico" extension if that helps? But they may actually be ".dll" files?

Ok....I can make .ico's (icon extensions). I believe the .dll file links the icons to whichever the program is.

Since I haven't made trouble anywhere in a while...... :D

What about giving TRU some extra status or title for this special expertise and special stuff that he's been doing?
I mean, I don't even know that he wants it, but, I dunno, maybe something like, IT design mod, or art guru, or Picasso, or whatever?

Actually since we can give ourselves whatever title we want, he could pick it and bestow it on himself whenever he felt like it.

See, you've got a couple of winblows puters... :D

I actually want an ibook :)

johnej

Yep...had to have a file server on the home network. But wife has said that I can blow her xp machine (pro) away and I think i will put on jds...

I have a friend who had a 12 ibook, loved it, and traded it in for 17" powerbook. Only thing about Ibook is it comes with more software, than power book does.

I have not used 2000 server since getting power book. It is just convenient for backups right now.

Sweet!! I'm actually tempted to blow away my old puter with XP and try out Linux. Right now I've got XP on all four of my boxes. I really wish I have this server I'm working on for a client...it's an HP Proliant Rackmount with dual 2.4Ghz xenon processors and a Gig and a half O' ram plus four Scsi removable 32Gig hard drives... :drool1: Though I'm not too fond of the jetlike fans :D

Yep. I want to ensure my wifes laptop is backed up prior to blowing her desktop away. Both desktops have 21" monitors (sun) and one is dual connected with the sparc 10. unfortunatley for me I will have to upgrade to an ultra box eventually as solaris 9, and 10 do not support old arch cpus.

OK...I decided to try something simple first... Just the acura symbol behind a background. One of them is actually from my car :)

http://img21.photobucket.com/albums/v62/TSX-R-Us/Misc/Icons_sample.jpg

To the left are icons in the tile view and to the right are icons in the list or detailed view. I'm not sure what size they'll show up on Macs.

I'll find a way to share those icons tomorrow... :D

Holy cow...I forgot all about them... They're just .ico files.. I don't know if those are the same icon file extensions for macs..
