When I first saw the 2006 OEM kit, I hated it. But, it actualy has been growing on me lately.

I was originally planning on getting just the Euro-R front lip (no sides or rear), but am now considering getting the OEM front, sides, and rear.

Am I crazy? Should I just leave the car alone? I've seen tons of pics of 06's with the OEM kit, but never seen one in person...

My car is ABP. My exterior mods are a Mugen grille, 17" Mugen NRs, and JDM blackout window trim. It is lowered on the 5-way adjustable Mugen suspension.

The complete mugen look, especially for 2006, is too over-the-top for me.

I vote for the Aspec

Mugen is over the top?? The mugen sides looks very similar to the aspec sides. The mugen lip is not overly aggressive.

Anyhow the euro R lipkit would my choice if u dont want the mugen.

The front piece of the aspec doesnt flow. It seems like a part just tacked onto the front.

I vote for mixing and matching....you pay a little more but just take alll the peices you love best.....

To me, the 2006 mugen lip looks just as tacked-on as the 2006 A-Spec. It comes up just as high in the front.

The overlap between TSXClub and ClubRSX is amazing. I just looked at your thread over at CRSX. Are you coming from an RSX also?

So far it looks like the Euro lip is the best. On dark colors the A-Spec looks good however.

maybe it needs to grow on you... but I definitely don't like the USDM kit for 06. Euro kit is sweet though, but I'm not sure how it'd look with just the front on, so I'm not voting.

For my '04 I always wanted to go with the Kenstyle, but couldn't afford it, and the USDM kit slowly grew on me, and then there was a sweet deal I couldn't miss, so I got it instead of Kenstyle. But I'm not entirely happy about my front lip. I'd love to change the whole thing to Kenstyle if I could, or at least I'm contemplating replacing just the front lip with the Euro lip.

EuroR Kit if you decide between USDM or EuroR

Side Note: Something difference with your Tires sidewall dismenion on the Mugen NR. You intented to increase the tire size  ?

Sup bro... Im from NorCal CRSX (RSX_831) and been postin in the thread you started... Like I mentioned on CRSX, I'd go with the Euro-R front, 04/05 OEM/ASPEC side skirts, and Euro-R for the rear lip... Otherwise, full euro-r kit...

jeffbatt
11-18-2006, 09:17 PM
Yeah, came from a 2002 RSX-S. I do think the TSX is a better car, but I'm trying to just make it a bit sportier without going over the top.

One thing I should also mention, I've got clearfilm on basically the entire nose of the car, and halfway up the hood. I can get clearfilm for the A-Spec lip, but I don't know about the Euro-R lip. I don't really want the Euro-R lip to look totally destroyed after a few months from stone chips.

Um, tires are 215/50/17, same as stock. Not sure what you're talking about? Didn't really want to increase wheel gap with 225/45's

I thought your NR is 18", that's why i said your sidewall is bigger than usual 18" on other TSX

I say go with the FULL euro R kit. Beautifull car by the way, the NR's look bigger than 17s and I LOVE the black window trim. Did you install the window trim yourself, if so how difficult was it?

I thought 06 Mugen kit is like 4K unpainted for the whole kit

I'd say 8XX VS 4000 that's pretty expensive

Thanks for the feedback...Can you compare how it looks in person to what it looks like in pictures? I guess my main reservation about the OEM kit is I've never seen it in person, so I can't really know what it actually looks like. Sometimes I love it in pictures, sometimes not. How does the foglight area look on the nose?

Thanks again.

I hate dealing with body shops, whatever I get is going to come pre-painted.

I orded my mugen grille from boomplustoys instead of king, just because I could get it pre-painted there. Worth it to me even with the 3-month wait.

Thanks...the acura "A' came from the accessory wheel chrome badge kit...a little bigger badge would probably look better, actually (the stock grille badge was just a little bit too big)

Is this your car? Look good.

Oh I see . . . although in regards to the A I hear some people are using the A and pod from the 05-06 RSX to attach the A to the grill . . . if I ever got the Mugen grill I'd try to see if I could do something like that . . . so without the pod what did you use to attach the A?

Oh yeah that's my car . . . more pics can be found in these links

The fog light area takes a little getting use to. I am debating on painting the black area the body color or not. The kit is very subtle but it is noticeable. I had my kit installed when I bought the car but I had to drive around for a week before it came in. I saw the body kit on online before I bought the car and wasn't sure about the front portion of it, but now it is growing on me and since I have such a dark color it isn't as noticeable as a white one. I hope this helps. I would post pictures up but like you said it looks different in person. I am going to take pictures of my car at stock height and lowered. I also have wheels that I am waiting on to install. Hope this helps.

Hey, is it your TSX that has Mugen body kit? Looks really nice, a lot better than I though it would. I like how they handled the fog lights.

jeffbatt

I ordered all my Mugen stuff from King except for the grille, which I got from boomplustoys.

The exhaust is definately louder and more aggressive than stock, but not really loud at all, you know? Basically it makes the car feel and sound sportier without being too crazy. It actually seems louder in low/mid revs than up high. I don't really know if the car is any more powerful than it was, but throttle response when down shifting (blipping throttle) is quite a bit better than before, and the car at least seems to pull a little harder. But, ever since I installed it it's been really cold, so it could be the weather, too. It supposedly weighs 30 pounds less than stock, which is nice, too (could really feel the weight difference vs. stock when doing the install).

Yeah, I guess if I ever do a kit it will be the Euro-R...just don't know if it is worth it for me, I like how the car looks right now.

I'm trying to take a semi-minimalist approach with the TSX. At least for now :)

As far as big things go, I've got the 5-way adjustable suspension, 17" NRs, intake, and exhaust. I'm not trying to make the fastest/best-handling/best-looking TSX, just one that drives and looks a bit sportier than stock but is still a daily driver.

The last car I had (RSX), I spent a lot of money re-doing mods that I wished I done better in the first place, so I wanted to do the TSX right the first time around.

That said, I wouldn't mind having all the stuff you have on your car :)

jeffbatt
01-26-2007, 09:17 AM
Scott. Said it was common and was basically the sound of the thin-wall tubing expanding and contracting. Maybe the stock exhaust uses thicker tubing to help tone it down...the 30-pound weight loss from the mugen has to come from more than just the Ti mufflers...

I'm not really that concerned, it is just weird. I'm pretty sure the car did it with the stock exhaust, just not as much.

I hear lots of cars at the parking lot at work doing it, too, again, just not as much.

Bringing this thread back from the dead but is it just me or do others feel that we (owners of 06+) have gotten screwed out of any decent front lips/body kits that dont cost a ton of money?
