Hi there:

I have a 2004 non-navi. I want to run an aux port to the centre arm rest (like the 2006). The guys in the TSXClub Electronics forum assure me that you can add the Sound Gate SNHOND3 and still retain use of the factory cd-changer.

I've tried explaining this to one of the sales reps at Kromer radio. He insists he's spoken to his installer and that you loose the cd-changer (unless you do major modifications). I don't buy it.

Can anyone recommend another electronics shop in the GTA who could tackle this?

THANKS!!!

These guys are one of the best in car audio in Toronto. A tad expensive but they do really great work. Some got stuff done by them many years ago and even my component and rear door speakers on my TSX were replaced by them.

PLenty of show cars get their stuff done by them.

Kromer Radio on Bathurst & Dundas did mine. They installed the Blitzsafe ipod adapter and ran it up through my cup holder. They did a flawless job and cost around $50 I believe.

You meant which CD-changer? the indash one? if it is, then he is b.s. I hook up my icelink+ myself and route the ipod cardle inside the middle console tray that above the aux input tray. It is easy. But if you want to route it to the cup holder position then it will require a bit more work and have a risk to break the cover... like I did...

Thanks for the feedback guys...the guys at KHF really seem to know what they're talking about. There's a module by Sound Gate or by PAC that can do the trick... :greenboun

Oh didn't realize the OP went to Kromer. Ians is correct, you just have to plug into the aux port of the stock deck and you will be fine. The ipod connection should show up on the deck display as CD-C, as you can see on the pic I posted I also have the oem tape deck (previous owner installed it). I can switch from cd to tape to ipod no problem just by pressing the CD button on the deck.

Ya the guy at Kromer claimed I'd lose use of the in dash factory cd-changer.

Hey do you guys run your mp3 players / ipod on batteries or is there a cigarette adapter???

^^ none, the ipod adapter is already an ipod charger

How about you non-IPOD people? (like me!) What do you do for a power source?
