In general, I love my TSX. I preach all the time that Acuras have a great mix of fun, reliability, modesty and value. But I've been having an AC (it could be a computer issue) problem ever since I got the car and it's embarrassing!

This problem happens more frequently when it's cold, but the AC would kick on by itself and turn the passenger side down to "Lo". I can turn it off, but it'll turn itself back on with no consistent timing.

So here's what's happened so far:

1) Took it to the dealer. They worked on it. Ended up ordering a new AC display panel. The problem started again a few days after.

2) Took it to the dealer, again. They ordered an entire new panel (CD unit and all since all electronics are routed through there). The problem started again.

3) Took it to the dealer, again. New unit, again. This time they searched in the nationwide database and found 3 other TSXs with the same problem and the problem was a grounding issue. After this visit, the AC started flipping ON and OFF literally every 1/2 sec whenever I used the rear defroster. It stopped doing that one day when I manually turned AC on. Now it's back to turning the passenger side down to "Lo".

What the?!

Any suggestions? :nervous:

Take it back to the dealership again, and again. Eventually if the fix the same problem enough times, it's a lemon.

What state do you live in? Here in California, after 3 repairs for the same issue, they are LEAGALLY obligated to give you a new car! Check the black case with all the manuals and everything, it should have some paperwork for the lemon guarantee.

aww too bad canada dont have the lemon law.

In Canada "Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Program " protects you much better than the Lemon Law does in the US. There's no need for 3 repairs of the same nature in order for a car to be considered a "lemon" in Canada. With a good case you can get your money back or your car replaced for little things such as a small rattle.

I like the fact that there's no "HARD-CODED" law in Canada. Sometimes people in the US get screwed by the lemon-law itself. Their car is a true lemon, but the dealer/manufacturer knows how to play the game and gets out of it with minimal expense.

My dad's friend who had a Sunfire managed to get a full refund(no depreciation penalty!) after 4 months for a noisy backseat! That'd be something unheard of in the US.

well, I don't think this problem will happen to anyone else since I'm the only one in the entire North America that's got this problem logged in the Acura database, but to fix it they replaced the panel that's between the display screen and the main dash unit. Hopefully this'll put this problem to sleep. llllll9
