but my friend's friend (who was the 1st one to get a Wii in Futureshop Richmond) already refunded his. He said it sucks, kinda boring. Well, the graphics is not better than Gamecube honestly....just the interaction part is cool, and the fact that chicks will come over and have a workout.....:laugh:

The developers havent really utilize the full potential of the unit yet. Sure the 360 and PS3 beats it in terms of graphics but the wii has much more fun potential, is a crowd pleaser and got gamers from all ages and sexes playing. I guess your friend likes to plays games by himself, I rather have 5 girls knocking on my door wanting to come in and play :jump:

I dropped by Bestbuy last nite in toronto around 7pm and there were about 4-5 people already in line for the wii.

Before midnite all the wii's were accounted for in toronto (line-ups) and no was in line for the PS3. Anyone can litterally just go in this morning at store's open hours and pick up a PS3.

Wii's are still in hot demand. No one wants the PS3 or xbox 360.

U guys hear the recall and Nintendo sending out free re-inforced replacement straps as the older ones 'tend' to break easily??

How were you able to know when ebgames was going to receive their shipment of ps3? They told me they get them in regularly, but not sure which days they get them....they just arrive in a box and are usually sold out before 11am!:(

This is weird. There's a shortage of Wii's now? The day they came out, I was in Toys 'R' Us on Broadway (Vancouver) doing some Xmas shopping and they had stacks of the things. I could have easily grabbed a dozen and bought them all. It surprised me a little, because like a week or so before that I was at Futurecrap the morning the PS3 came out, and was totally out of luck.
I wouldn't get one because of the fact that the games are made for 6 year old girls. :hmmph:

here is my schedule for the past few days:

Thurs 11-7: work
7-9: dinner/nap
9-Fri 9: lineup for Wii
9-2: lunch/nap/freshen up (with fire alarm testing in the background)
2-10: work
10-Sat 12: Play Wii (finally)
12-7: sleep
7-9: freshen up
9-7: work

damn I haven't even opened the box yet :(

Kanon, they announced a optional recall for the Wii straps today.. you can send it to them and they replace with a stronger strap for free.

I don't know, I never played the Wii so I have no comment. There are units setted up in the malls, but playing it infront of a random crowd is kinda gay. My friends and I used to stand around laughing at people. I rather play at home w/ some buds or a couple of chicks...

The controllers are wireless. The straps are for you to wear around your wrist so you don't accidently throw your controller toward you TV when the game action gets to intense. (Similar to the strap that comes with your digital camera) There are stupid people who play the Wii Sport bowling game and they actually let go of the controller let a real bowling ball. The throw the controller so hard... the strap breaks and the controller go flying toward their LCD/Plasma TV.

I managed to find 2 extra wiimotes for my best bud last friday. Had to goto 2 EB's and 2 Blockbusters to find it. At first i asked the guy if he has any nunchucks...he said he's check the back. Came back and said no nunchucks sbut he has 2 wiimotes. I left..called my friend as I was leaving and decided to take the 2 extra wiimotes. Thank god the wiimotes are used more then the nunchucks. I got lucky.

Playing on a 63 inche plasma is amazing. Things is his main TV doesn't have enough component inputs for his wii so he's gonna be getting a 70 incher just for gaming with his PS3 and Wii. Can't wait.

The wii only uses 420p. Luckily i ordered the extra nunchucks and remotes at nintendo Canada before they ran out of stock a few weeks backs. The controllers are harder to find than the wii systems themselves LOL

He's getting a 70 incher that supports 1080p for the PS3. His current 60 inche plasma and 63 inche plasma doesn't do 1080p right now. Wii is going to be sitting right beside the PS3.

NEC makes some of the nicests plasmas..you can so tell the difference with the same signal feed. Problem is it's harder to find NEC plasmas.

now i got two 60 gig ps3's, with one that is new version firmware update.

i had 4 wii's also, i have one left they going like hot cakes, these ones are the ones with the new straps, so no recall on these Wiimotes

The 60+" were 2 years old . 1080 Progressive scan TV's weren't widely avaialable even if at all back then. If I told you the price of how much my best bud got them for, you wouldn't complain.
