To get to the top of the rear struts, you have to fold down the 60/40, and romove the side of the seats.

Fast forward... New suspension installed, and car is put back together.
I then drove the car for roughly an hour, to let the new suspension settle in a bit.
Now we are off to get the alignment done

Great car! :) I was looking to upgrade to Mugen too, but still saving money for it.
Hey can you post a larger pic that zooms in to the fender gap? I want to see the difference it makes because stock is just way too high. Also if someone can post a pic with Eibach Pro Kit installed to compare with the Mugen that would be great!

In California we now have a legal tint. It is close to clear, but it cuts out 99% of the UV's ;)
If it were up to me, I'd tint them darker (driver + passenger side windows), but I'm all about not getting pulled over (they are very strict here on window tint)

You used to see a lot of side windows tinted here as well.. That is until they switched it from a fix it ticket, to a ticket.
Each time you get one now, the price of the ticket goes up, and up

Ouch..that sucks.
I'm actually still trying to decide how much tint I want to get..mostly becuase I've never had any tint on any of my previous cars. For sure I want some, but not enough to be noticeable for my front windows..and of course for UV protection.

I actually have my windshield tinted as well ;) Shhhh :)
My tinter once told me that cars without tint, look like rentals. Now I can't get that thinking out of my head, every time I see a car without tint.
You might want to think of doing a lighter shade of tint all the way around. Nice and clean touch, and blocks the UV's :D

How does the Mugen feel in terms of ride and performance? I remember somewhere that Mugen claims the suspension to retain 90% stock ride quality.
Also i suppose you dont need a camber kit for that 1" lowering right? Just a simple alignment will do?

I just noticed you are from Australia. A very warm welcome :) Are there many TSX's/Euro R's there?
The ride feel's a bit more firm then stock. Not too noticeable in normal driving, but very apparent in aggressive driving. I am still getting used to it, so I am pushing it more each day.
Now I can definitely notice the very average stock tires of the TSX. Flaken Azenis coming soon...
You are correct in that no camber kit was required. A bit more involved then just a simple alignment though, as you need to correct the toe. Also, you can do a ton to improve the handling of the car in this area. A great alignment shop is key!! If the guy doing your alignment does not ask you your driving style, you might be in the wrong place.
So you are thinking of getting the Mugen suspension?

Thanx Joker :) When i first got my Euro in Feb this year there werent that many Euros around. But i'm seeing more and more these days and surprisingly quite a few of them are female owned! or at least driven when i saw them
Yes i will be getting the Mugen suspension in the future but i'm still saving money for it :o
One question though. As most springs set out there (Eibach for example) lowers the front of the car more than the back becuase the the wheel gap is larger in front than in rear, does the equal lowering (1" both ends) of the Mugen make the front wheel gap still looking larger than the rear? I'm asking this because my Euro's front wheel gap is ridiculous but the back is actually acceptable

Yes, the Mugen suspension lowers the front, and rear an equal 1". The front only given the impression to the naked eye that it is not as low as the rear. This is do to the wheel well's actually being a bit larger in the front. This is for obvious reason's (the front needs to incorporate the turning radios of the tire). Take a look at my profile shot, nice and level :D

Thanks Hip!
As of now Comptech doesn't offer struts, just springs.
The Mugen suspension is actually made by Showa, and the spring rates match the struts.
Comptech would have been less expensive in the short term, but I would end up replacing my struts in the long run anyway.
So I figured better to do it right the first time, as opposed to doing it over.
Plus I am pro Mugen, you busted me Tony ;)

So why are these cars so tall? I keep comparing them to older generation Hondas and they are real high.
Also, seems silly that Honda doesn't make them lower from the factory, way too much gap in front.

Well, you actually pointed out one of the differences: The AUDM Accord is made in Thailand. (I think most if not all USDM's are made in the U.S.)
Do you have any impression about that -- I mean, the quality of cars made in Thailand? You probably know that there is some reputation for U.S.-made cars, that they're not as good as those made in Japan, although I don't think it's a known fact and there's some debate about it. Does there seem to be any impression or consensus about cars made in Thailand, like compared to Japan (or compared to anything)?
As industry gets spread around the world more and more, considerations like this will become more and more important.

I remember seeing somewhere that roughly 3% of Thai made Accords are imperfect (duno in what way maybe just something not working at time of delivery). Whereas its below 1% for Japan made Accords Euro/TSX.
So far i know 3 places that make Accords (wide body). USA, Australia and China. This is of course not including the Japanese Inspire :)

I have done a lot of favors for AutoWave, and the owners are friends of the family. I also did a majority of the work. So with that said, I did not pay anywhere near what the job would usually run. Honestly, I don't even know what the job would normally cost. If you are thinking about having work done, hit me up, and I should be able to get you a deal.

The only bottle neck at that point would be the stock cat. Test pipe is not worth it in SoCal, but maybe I'll go with a carsound cat. I am going to wait and see what the dyno show's first though, before I play with the cat ;)

Nothing in the works at this point, were you going to be replacing the oem rims?
On the suspension how much do you think the labor would cost me, in the old days I would have done it myself but these days I figure let someone who knows what there doing take care of stuff like that.
There is a sales guy at my company who owes me a Supercharger when it comes out along with the hondata, but I am not really sure when that will be coming out if ever. I could probably get him to throw 5g's or so at some other mods if the supercharger dosent come out.

I have been pushing it pretty hard lately, and I can tell you that I really need to get some better tires!! With the Mugen suspension, it is very easy to get the car to drift. So I think without a doubt the stock tires are holding the car back at this point.
As for how the car feels with the Mugen suspension. There is less roll, and the ride is much more firm. Not to be confused with bouncy. It is funny, as I am used to it now. But my brother in law rode in my TSX for the first time this week, and complained about how stiff the suspension was. I actually wouldn't mind if it were a tad more stiff..
No camber kit was needed, as the Mugen suspension only drops the car 1". Which I actually think it has settled in a little bit more since those photos were taken. Keep in mind the suspension had only been on the car for about 45 minutes when I took the photos. I will have to take some more. An alignment was required though. We have one of the best alignment guys on the planet right here in our backyard. In his own words, "I can make your car handle like a go cart". When he did the alignment for me, we talked for well over an hour on setups. I can't even begin to tell you how much I learned while there. This guy sets up drag, road race, rally cars, you name it.
I'll tell you what, why don't you meet up with me at AutoWave one of these days, and I'll let you take her for a spin :)
As for my tint. It was done by Jeff at http://www.aterrifictint.com
Jeff has done 5 of my cars, and I can't even begin to say enough good things about him!! He also does all the cars for Lexus, and Infinity of South County. Not to mention Mike Tyson's Bentley :-) I went limo on the back, and legal on the sides/windshield.

Ok, I spoke to Shane (owner) at AutoWave today, and got some number's for you.
If you bring your own suspension/header to be installed, the cost of the install will be $225 (suspension), and $100 (header).
However, a much better rate will be offered if you go through AutoWave to buy the parts to be installed. In the event that you do decide to buy through AutoWave, Shane is very happy to offer you a free dyno as well ;)

Nice looking car you got there Joker..looks just like mine except no spoiler, tint, and not as low :D
I'm still debating the tint and how much. Does the rubber seals around the windows rub off your tint at all when you roll up/down your windows? I've heard that's a problem..

can't say that I like that half and half window tint. I assume legally you can't go that dark up front but I wouldn't just done light all around. Whats next after the lsd?

I am not fired up about it either, but my car sits out in the sun all day while I am at work.. So limo in the back works, but legal in front is my only option (as to not get pulled over every day) :(
I am looking into the final drive, before doing the LSD install. We'll see :)

Hello, and welcome to the Club Cire :wavey:
Congrats in advance, and I look forward to your review
Wow Joker, those are some nice pic's. I actually live in HB. Can you give me the physical address for Autowave and the tint shop? I might swing by to check it out. With your ride lowered one inch, do you ever run into any issues when going over semi-big speed bumps or deep driveways? And also, how much did the whole tint job cost? I am thinking of going maybe 15% all around. Just curious...

In California we now have a legal tint. It is close to clear, but it cuts out 99% of the UV's ;)
If it were up to me, I'd tint them darker (driver + passenger side windows), but I'm all about not getting pulled over (they are very strict here on window tint)
We do, tell me!

Oh yea I talked to him already. He sounded like a good businessman. He was just raising his prices, but since my install date was after his price hike, he still gave me the lower price he quoted me. Unfortunately I had to cancel that appointment and haven't yet got the tint.

My number is still the same :D
You only need to remove the sides of the seats (put the rear seats down, and then remove the sides). Few bolts that can easily be found, and your good to go

Hello, and welcome to the Club studdly :wavey:
To be honest, I have no idea what the going rate would be for the install.
AutoWave takes care of me, so all I can suggest is that you call your local shop for a quote.

Take a look at your suspension. It's very straight forward, maybe you can try it yourself.
