This is not a TSX related question, but I like this forum so much that I want to discuss everything here.
Everywhere I go on the net, there's a lot of critisizm and bitching about BMW's i-Drive system.
Can people with enough knowledge about BMWs and i-Drive comment on that?
What is it used for and why is it so bad that even BMW owners are bitching about it?

I think this should be posted in the Automotive Discussion section.

One problem I experience with IDrive is the fact that it not user-friendly. Compared to the touch screen control on the TSX (an idiot can figure out how to use it in a matter of seconds)... IDrive takes time to learn. People who do not like to learn new technology, computer illiterate or impatient may not like the design of the IDrive.

well, for the rookie, the idrive takes getting used to. once your used to it however, it comes naturally. The Idrive is used to control your advanced functions of the car, like the navi (since its not touchscreen like ours) the stereo, the bluetooth, etc. You can use it to change cd's/radio stations, adjust volume, set the navi destination, etc. It can get confusing to rookies because you might want to change the volume but be in the navi settings and start messing with that instead, etc.
Really, for the young driver its fine, for the older driver its a pain in the ass. Like im sure my dad would get pissed playing with IDrive, while i dont find it any trouble.
