Hi everyone,
I just bought a used certified 05 TSX AT about 3 weeks ago. Now, I notice about the clicking sound on the shifter. It clicks when you start driving from a complete stop and another click when you come to a complete stop (the shifter in in D/M).
Is that normal? or I need to bring my car back to the dealer and have them check on it?
I know it is normal when the shifter is in P and you step on the brake. The clicking sound has something to do with shifter interlock.
Is it also the case when the shifter is in D/M (the sound is similar to the clicking sound of the shifter interlock)?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks........

Ok, I dropped off my car at Tustin Acura since I bought it there on monday around 5.00 PM and I just got it back yesterday. They fixed the problem. They said I must have spilled coke on the center console, which I never did. I don't even know how they found out that it was coke that was spilled. Anyway, according to them, the coke somehow "washed out" the grease on the shifter interlock system, so they had to take out the whole center console and re-grease it.
Now, the clicking noise is gone. It doesn't even click when the shifter is in P and you step on the brake which I'm not sure it's good or even worse. But the point is the clicking noise is gone and hopefully it's for good.
By the way, I got an 07 TSX with navi as a loaner eventhough they said I could only get a loaner if it took more than 1 day to fix my car.But they accomodated me with that anyway, which is pretty cool.

If it is really spilling coke to your tranny then you are really lucky! My friend did spill a few drop of coke into his tranny of his E430 and his whole tranny & ecu gone! Why he spill coke to the console? actually, he just put a cup of McDonald large coke on the cup holder and then he made a fast left turn... that's it! And warranty not going to cover it and the service advisor blame on putting drink on cup holder! :leapfrog:
