I've just put down a deposit for a 2006 TSX MT w/o Navi for $32,000. And I still have the following options available to me until tomorrow morning:
1. Should I get the one with Navi with $2000 extra; or
2. Should I get the 2007 model instead; or
3. Should I get the 2006 IS250 with moonroof and leather package for $36300 ($3600 discount)
Thanks for your advices in advance!

1. i think $2000 for the navi is worth it, if u get a aftermarket (a good one) + install will more than $2000
2. for mw i will go for 06 coz 07 just add the tire pressure........+ save some $$ for mods
3. is 250 with moonroof + leather doesnt come with HID, right? $36300 and no HID.........um.......

ok... "value" wise u can't beat acura....
but to get 3xxx off an IS250 the only thing u are missing are HID...
otherwise it's the same as TSX and u have a v6 and better built quality
better interior finishing and that gague start up sequence
IS250 hands down no questions asked. u can add hid ur self later for like
300 bucks.

The only problem with getting the IS250 is that it does not come with NAVI.
But owning an IS250 MT would be sweet.

Leather package? Do you mean luxury package instead? The car comes with leather standard

Unfortunately It is not the case in Canada. You have to pay extra $3650 to get leather and power seat. Even with that the tires are only 16" where as in US you get 17".

As Neo said, you can add HID later...and go with an aftermarket navi. If you're into performance, I'd go with the IS. Also with the IS, you'll get MP3 playback, push start button and a nicer interior (quality of materials).
Good luck on your decision!

IS250 no second word.
The TSX is nice, but once it release the 2008 (or newer) re-design model, the price will signafically. The IS250 is so new and has another 5-6 years before it gets old. They also have a huge aftermarket parts supply too.
HOnestly, IS250 SUCKS MAJOR BALLS. I still prefer my TSX over IS250, power and fun wise. If you are looking for more high class and cooler interior, then go for the IS250.
If you are located in Van, I have another option for you. Get the 06 MT w/ Navi or no Navi, and I trade u my 05! hahaha

Rear Seat leg room is one of the reason I hesitate to get the IS250. But with so many of you suggest IS250, may be I should reconsider. h1e1l1p
I will go for TSX for the following reason:
1, interior room is too small, I feel more comfortable on driving an EG Civic than the IS.
2, The manual tranny on IS is not that great, it grinning couple of times when I test drove it last summer.
3, No fold down rear seat and no hid!
4, I know I can't stand when an IS350(or IS-F) driving by!

In terms of overall value or in terms of performance!!!
In terms of looks, not much modding needed afterwards.
BTW, let's welcome CheungThegr8 back to the darkside :jump:! E46 325i --> Fit half year ago and then now A4 --> TSX (or IS250) :woot: And most important to celebrate is AT --> MT :chebosto:
Also, 1 thing you have to consider.... if you go for TSX, a mod devil will bug you everyday!

Having driven the IS250. Once the exitement of the marvelous interior dies down, the IS250's engine isnt something to die for. It lakcs power. The TSX seems to have more of a jump even though there's little low end torque.
I would rather get the TSX w/ navi.
one thing guys, its possible to get the IS250 with 4xxx off. My friend was able to when u got quotes from those internet quote institutions (cant remember what company). but he told me as he did look at the IS, but he said the rearseats was smaller than the 90s civic.
TSX is the way to go. In terms of 06 to 07. I belileve the 07 doesnt have much new things to offer.
So decide whether u plan on keeping the car forever (get 06) or plan on selling in 4 years or so (then get 07 as its considered one year nwer)

I can tell you that the IS250 engines sucks... worst than my IS300. (unless u go for the IS350 or IS-F)... which will be a different story... :)

I do plan to keep the car for more than 4 but at the same time I would like to have the flexibility to change my plan.

if you value your rear seats, I do not suggest the IS... Granted I sit closer up than most people, the rear seating area are still cramped. Also because it's a RWD, you'll have that hump down the center.
Having owned my IS for a few months now, the car feels more like 2 door roadster than a sedan.
It's a bit easier for me to compare my old TSX with my IS because I have every feature and more than what I had on my TSX. But with the one you're looking at, it's pretty basic and I believe you'll get more luxuries like HID's and maybe bluetooth? with a TSX. So....
More luxuries, more interior room for passengers, more trunk space, FWD = TSX
Nicer & more comfortable leather seats, a nicer interior, a little more torque, RWD = IS

I wanna know for sure haha.. but then again his IS250 will be stock and you my friend have quite a few things under your hood haha..
^^Did you read the whole thread? he just dump his E46 for a Fit half yr ago and he is so happy with his decision that he must dump his B6 A4 for a TSX or IS this time(well actually he is on his way to pick up his new IS now). This guy was moving from Accord & Camry --> MBs --> BMW & Audi and now been there and done, no more European POS ne more.

Actually, not quite stock, it is with the luxury package (leather, sunroof, memory seat) and he is looking for 18" & lip spoiler. And I will convince him to get aftermarket hid then it should be pretty much done but at least he won't have hondata & all the goodies aftermarket support at this moment! :slap:

Not a good day for me. I've picked up my IS this morning. When I try to return my AUDI (lease end) to dealer the engine failed on me. End up we have to wait for more than an hour for the tow truck at Lexus to tow the AUDI to AUDI dealer.
After finished all the paper work at AUDI, and with less than 30 km of driving, the new LEXUS's "SYSTEM CHECK" signal and tire pressure faulty signal started showing on the dash board. Initially they thought that it is only a small problem but end up I'm now driving an ES330 courtesy car. So far they still haven't find the problem.
So I'm telling myself, with the low LEXUS, I must aim high - 2010 TSX.
^^ haha, they may pre-install Windows Vista on your like Lexus already!!!! :tardsmash

DOH!!! That sucks :(
Hopefully they'll come through for ya...otherwise give Lexus a call...
I tested drive his new IS last night and man! it feels way more luxury than our car and it totally make my bimmer look like cheap toy! :buttkick: But after droven it, this car should not be in MT! TSX owner shouldn't complaint about lack of low end torque, drive by wire delay! Of course as expected the clutch & shifter feel is day & night different when compare to our TSX. So... my comment is... Ed go buck your dealer and ask to switch your lease to IS350! :nutkick:

Best friend has a 2007 IS250 AWD fully loaded with navi and everything. He's had to bring it back to the dealer because the window trim fell off and there are alot of squeaks in the car.
It's a nice car...but how do you fit 2-3 people in the back seat and how do you haul stuff if the back seat doesn't fold down?
I think i read somewhere that Lexus will discontinue the base IS250 with no AWD because the AWD way outsells the 2WD version.

Yeah, the IS350 is beautifully appointed and on outward appearances well fitted, but the test drive left me cold. It is fast, no doubt, but the transmission, despite the paddles and manumatic gate, did what it wanted - ARGH! Without a MT option, that transmission is unforgivable. Those big front seats are comfy, but they are so huge adults will not fit in the back, and kids would be constantly kicking the seat.
I know my MT brother Ian will scream, but if I have the cash for an IS350, I am looking long and hard at BMW - sign me up for European Delivery. Hmm, then again, we are not far from a TSX redesign either.

No, I won't scream. I will make the same decision too. For the price of IS350, I will go for 335i MT for sure. I still can't live with AT. Actually, I don't anginst E90 as much as E46. E90 did drive a lot better than E46(well I meant only 330 & 335, not the cheap ass 323, 325). So my plan is wait for the new TSX coming out, if my E46 can't live that long than I will give G35 MT a shot before I commit for another nightmare.... I meant BMW :nutkick:
