I'm a lot more concerned than I was a year or two ago...

The winters back home in Canada aren't the same as they used to be. When I was a kid we could build snow forts in the snow three feet deep all winter long - it's tough to do that now. The Christmases back home have been brown for several of the past few years, and it really makes you think what we're doing. I want my kids to have the same experience I had growing up, so I've decided to pay the small charge to help support local green power and have bought carbon credits to defray the emissions from my TSX.

Interesting...you bought carbon credits? How does that work?
I know what you mean about things seeming different. Granted, a Kentucky winter isn't normally all that wintery, but it seems like it used to be a lot more potent. This time last year I had an S2000, and there must have been a dozen days that I had the top down in January and February.

There's a company called TerraPass that sells "carbon credits." They actually aggregate the cash from their customers and funnel them into projects that support renewable energy sources that lessen the burden on carbon-based fuels. It isn't prohibitively expensive either - a pass for a 2006 TSX automatic that drives 20,000 miles a year is $80.

These days in TO, we always get wussy snow.. like snowfall that is either weak, or strong for a very short time. I am looking outside now and it looks like a blizzard, but I know this "blizzard" is gone after an hour. I never experienced snow that's 3 feet deep.. but I would like to ^_^.. I do remmeber alot more snowfall few years ago, but maybe cause I was shorter and everything looked bigger too me.
