TSX has better Engine... lower horsepower.
M6 has better Suspension.... high horsepower

They cost around same I think... M6 will have 18" Wheel , HID , V6 as well, TSX will have best Navigation system, VSA, I4 .

M6 is heavier, but TSX is not light either .
My friend still undecided of which to choose.

They're so much alike it's almost comical. I guess I'd choose the Cheapest one, the Mazda 6 withe the 4cyl and 5spd manual. Then add the body kit shown in "Pic 1"

Ray

TSX is better in with all the features but the mazda should be cheaper.

PS: i would never add a body kit lol cant park anywhere ;)

luxury, sports, and moderate pricing "acura can do"

so i would prob go with the acura

regarding the body kit i would have to agree with tsxclub although a few months ago i would to put it on and actually did
boy did i regret that

I'll be getting a kit and some 17's for my 850 as soon as the funds "roll-in". I have no "beef" with a lower stance.

Ray

kits do look good and attract alot of people at the car but it does get annoying having an every day car as a show car is the biggest pain out there :D

for my tsx i might put a skirt kit but no body kit.. ;)

First I thought you were talkin about the new BMW design too....But in this comparo...I'd take the Acura. Always wanted an acura, and even though the 6 is a stable platform......the Acura is a bit more sporty for my taste.:D

Competitive Vehicles of the Mazda M6 220@6300HP :
Base MSRP: $21,100
Ford Taurus LX Standard Sedan - 100A
Base MSRP: $19,340 155@4900

Honda Accord Sedan LX V6 240@6250HP
Base MSRP: $23,000

Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 245@5800HP
Base MSRP: $22,649

Toyota Camry LE V6 192@5300HP
Base MSRP: $22,260

Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 Sedan
Base MSRP: $25,385 190@6000HP

And in few months the new TSX!
TSX 2.4L Sedan 200HP
Base MSRP: $25,000-$27,000

Personally looking at the price difference and performance difference i think the Mazda M6 is a much better car to buy.. wouldnt you agree? for around $25,000 you can get the M6 fully loaded with almost every feature they have to offer :D and get a v6 with 220hp heh

just my 2 cents

Is Mazda going to give you a 4 year/50000 mile warrary, NO!!

Are you going to get oil changes done for the next 36 months for free (which I do at my Acura dealer) NO!!

What car will give you less problems? I bet the Acura will have less problems.

Nothing against Mazda, but I'll take a Acura anytime.

My wife is driving a 94 Legend with 159,000 miles and still going great with no problems.

You could keep that picture, I didn't mean that you should take it off, just wanted to know.

Keep saving those pennies and maybe some day you could have an Acura and a Hummer:D

YES - Mazda DOES warranty the 6 for 4 years or 50,000 miles. (new, with the car in December)

Ok, so the free oil changes aren't part of the bargain. BUT - the added cost of the TSX will cover that $300 pretty easily. (12 changes @ an expensive $25 per change. A dealer here will do 'em for $12)

As for which will have more problems, only time will tell. Honda has a great rep, but Mazda's doesn't exactly suck.

Nice!! Car man i like it.. is that the type S?

ruefus

Yep - M6s with all the trimmings. V6, leather, Bose etc.

Even though I've only had it for 5 days, I've already got 800 miles on the odometer. Everything is as tight as a drum.

Gas mileage is up around 24mpg and I couldn't be happier.

Some think these two cars are direct competitors. I'm not so sure. Acura is Honda's premium brand. Mazda doesn't have one.

Also, only fully-loaded S models really stack up to the TSX's list of standard features. Even then, the TSX will cost more. Plus the TSX isn't going to be available un-loaded. Shooting for different areas I think.

I really like the color wish they had tsx in that color :(

That 6 is real sweet! I posted elsewhere that my 01 CL-S lease is up this year and the 6 and TSX are on my "purchase" list.

So far, how do you find the quality of the 6's interior? What car did you have before to compare the 6 with?

Ruefus, I guess i'm not the only guy who own a mazda 6 in this forum/

Anyway, today i saw 2 TSX's on the road, to me, they look very small, it's just like a RSX, but a 4 door. Also with the price of TSX, I think it's better off buying a BMW 3 series or a Lexus IS300. TSX is just a Japanese/Eruo version of Honda Accord and although TSX's performance are rated 200hp, but with low toruqe I think it's worthless when doing normal driving, unless you always punch your gas at full throttle at all time, it's a shame for Acura to sell TSX for such a high price.

honda is actually really improvin on torque numbers....wit the b18c5 or the i-t-r engine it had 195 horses or suntin like that, and only like 130 foot pounds or torque, and the k24 has 200 horses and 16* so thats a great improvemnet....and it only gets better...

The Mazda was on my list too.

I test drove it back in December before I knew much about the TSX. My take: looks great, moves quick, handles well, and priced better than the TSX.

But you get what ya pay for. Two big things stand out.

1) The interior feels, well, a bit cheap. The dash is looks sharp but plasticky. The floor mats look like they're from a Dodge from Avis. And the overall feel just isn't as sophisticated as the TSX.

2) All that HP/torque y'all are excited about comes from a re-worked FORD Duratec. You'll NEED a warranty.

The second you sit in TSX you know you're in a better car. I'll trade a little power for class and refinement. Especially with a commute that's an hour-and-15 each way.

I agree with you. See my post on TSX vs 325xi. I finally get over my struggling on the MSRP and decided to pay a little more for a Bimmer. BTW, I test drove the Mazda6 and I liked it too. With this kind of price on TSX, you get a heavy loaded Mazda6!

with the price of 31,000 you can get a well equiped BMW 325i with sports package. I don't think it's worth it to get a TSX, and I have no idea what the heck they want to price it so high, it's not even close compare to Lexus either. Just the name Acura, doesn't sound that appealing to me.

It's quite subjective how you see Acura and BMW. I thought the same way that a Bimmer is kind of old school in the beginning. However, an established brand has its reasons to stick around for so long like MB. I like TSX and Acura's reliability, but as far as class go, BMW is always on top of Acura. Otherwise, you will see Acura brand in Japan and Europe...
