I've been spoiled by some of the cheapest prices at Canada Computers in Toronto. Now that i'm in Vancouver, I have no clue of where to go to get computer stuff. Only place I know is NCIX. Are they the chepeast around?

You should check out Dell.ca too
I ordered:
2 Xbox360 Wireless controllers for $39 each (reg. $59)
1 Quick Charge Kit and 1 extra battery pack for $25 (reg. $40 + $15 = $55)
I received all my orders within 1-2 business day.

linksys sux. Get Dlink. I don't hate linksys (i am using it too lol). Easy to use, but performance wise, it is just average.

I read one review recently and it shows that one of the Dlinks rank 1st or 2nd in terms of performance. I can try to find out if u are interested.

I had 3-5 d-links...couple had rebooting problems. Thought i'd go with the linksys cause you can mod them with custom firmware. In that custom firmware, what interests me is the way it handles multi connections for BitTorrents. D-links cannot handle large amounts of connections and when a connection dies, it stay int he router's memory. What the custom firmware on the linksys does is ping the connection and kills it if there is no activity. Something liek that. The custom firmware also allows you to boost the signal range of the wifi.

I am not sure about which Dlink u have used. The one I heard about is DGL-4300. About $150.

(I am using custom firmware on my linksys too. yeah, it rocks)
hardware wise, the 4300 should own any linksys.

good luck shopping :)

Are you guys have a LAN party with all those switches/routers?

Still remember the all night CS 1.5, Quake 3, and UT times.

$150 + Taxes for a router is overkill. I don't game anymore (though I use to LAN alot playing Call of Duty and UT and I quit Everquest and World of Warcraft).

Yeah...was a level 60 night elf priest. Quit about a year ago..just as my guild started doing MC. I still have the account...it's on Lothar.

No time to play anymore...the service light on the GF comes on every hour.

I was debating if I should start playing WoW or not. Some of my friends spend like 3-4hrs a day playing it. Too bad I don't have that much free time.

Anyone else excited about the new Command & Conquer 3 that is coming out in March?

Another great place to check out computer/electronic deals is
www.redflagdeals.com
If you explore the message forum, you usually find some very good deals. I'm broke because of that website.

Gggrrrr.... just bought 5 spindles of Verbatim 20-Pack 2.4X 8.5GB/240Min DVD+R for $24.99 each (Total: $141.19) :bawling:

I might want to upgrade my LCD screen because the prices of LCD dropped so much and my Dell 20.1inch looks tiny compared to my friends 24 or 30in screens.

NCIX is okay but http://www.directcanada.com/ has much better prices i find.

Just some examples:
DIRECT CANADA:
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11610BD2947&vpn=122-CK-NF68&manufacture=EVGA

NCIX:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21081&vpn=122-CK-NF68&manufacture=eVGA

DIRECT CANADA:
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12600MN6692&vpn=L194WTX-BF&manufacture=LG

NCIX:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19619&vpn=L194WTX-BF&manufacture=LG%20Electronics

My friend just built a system from them last week, recieved it on friday, (was a delay because of weather) everything is working fine and came nicely packed. Though the PS he ordered was crap (trusted Tom's review of it)

Sorry.. just had to check to verify your statement. Never buy anything from NCIX @ regular price. You must check their weekly sale items (usuallly have a huge selection) for better pricing. Coincidently, they have both the eVGA MB and LG LCD on sale this week which is cheaper than Direct Canada.

EVGA Nforce 680I SLI LGA775 Conroe for $288.98 (DC price: $292.18)
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21081&vpn=122-CK-NF68&manufacture=eVGA&promoid=1021

LG L194WTX-BF 19IN Wide LCD Black for $244.99 (DC price: $253.80)
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19619&vpn=L194WTX-BF&manufacture=LG%20Electronics&promoid=1021

howd you get to the weekly sales page? lol

GeneralCho
02-19-2007, 04:12 PM
hahahahaha!!! you just go on NCIX.com home page and on the top of the page there is usually a banner (usually with a gay title like Thanksgiving sale, Gamer week sale, and etc.) and you just click on it.

ah okay so i did find it before. currently its the valentines special, i guess i was just too lazy to go through the pages of the special to find the items.

It's stupid how it doesnt automatically link you to the most updated price...you have to go through the specials to see how much its cheaper.

But i do agree with you, if you purchased things on special from ncix it seems to be cheaper than Direct Canada. However the same could be said about direct canadas specials, also i am not sure if ncix has free shipping, but DC offeres free shipping if over 300$.

GeneralCho
02-19-2007, 04:29 PM
yeah.... it is so stupid. Even if you go in-store and if you don't mention about it being on sale this week. Sometimes... they charge you regular price. Usually I just print it out and show the sales guy.

Narci.. Costco West coupons are up on RFD. The only item that interest me is the Gatorade 24 x 591mL for $14.99. Maybe the toilet cleaner hahahaha!!! ... buy one get one free
8 bottles of Lysol Toilet Cleaner for only $9.59

Not sure if Kanon checks this thread. Amazon.ca is having a sale on video games. I remember you mentioned that you were looking for Trauma Center: Second Opinion. It is only for $39.99.
