So I just got back from dropping my car off at North Shora Acura. Dropped off the TSX for a Type C service. (This thread is about driving impression of a 2007 TL not a debate on whether I am dumb or not taking my car to Acura for a Type C service). They gave me a 2007 TL with 1182km on it :) No Navi though so I got lost driving up this mountain to get to the highway.

Impressions?

Seems very rigid and well built. Feels very 'bulky' like a volvo though. The seats were comfortable and eveyrthing was layed out the same like the TSX except TL had extra buttons. The center console is a total piece of crap. The sun was out and the black plastic display reflects alot of light..hard to see. The center itself looked horrible...but i'm sure NAVI can fix that :) One thing I noticed was that it came with a tape deck. TAPE DECK???? WHY? haha I would sugguest getting the NAVI even on the TSX for the sake of the way it looks :P

The Audio system was good even though I started the car with the XM on Kenny Rogers :puke:. I wish the Canadian TSX had XM in it.

Driving wise...the car seemed to over steer alot on the highway around an easy curve. I know ther steering wheel is suppose to be tighter at higher speeds but the TL is too tight. Take some efffort to turn the steering wheel.

Power..was ok. Didn't feels as raw as my old C36..it felt like processed power. Like the power went through a filter or something. Pick up on it was ok...I was expecting more from that engine.

FWD..you can definitely tell the car was FWD. It drives like a FWD. I think if the car was RWD it would be alot of fun to drive.

Braking...the brakes had the same feel as the TSX except the ABS is WAY to sensative.

The car makes noises when you first start off. The ABS testing is more pronounced then the TSX.

Would I buy this car?

Nope...I would not. It's not very fun to drive and feels like a boat. The FWD is the killer. I guess it's all the extra power that make the FWD more pronouced.

*** Oh yeah..the flip key...overrated. You need ot rpess the button to flip the key back in. My Old Benz key just flipped back in with a little force.

Thanks for sharing your impressions, Narci. Shows that magazines are not the only ones who recognize front wheel drive issue with the TL. For the price you pay for a TL or TL Type-S, some very tempting options (G35, 3 Series) are probably money better spent.

In My Opinion ...,i Kinda Agree With You In Some Parts ,but My Brother Just Bought A 07 Tl Type-s And I Love It. I Even Thought Of Trading In My Tsx For One. Maybe There Is A Difference In Between The Type S And The Base Model. I Have Driven The My Friends 06 Bmw 530 And The Type S Feels A Lot Better. Never Driven A G35. I Take The Type S Over Any Bmw Unless Is A M-series Or At Least The 545...

Is the MT Type-S come with LSD?

Considering the Type-S has more power..the FWD feel of the car would be more pronounced.

I personally love RWD with cars with lots of torque and HP.

i agree with the comments from Narci.

The TL is ultimately a FWD car, and will never come close to the driving dynamics of a RWD or AWD sports sedan; even with a FWD LSD installed. Think about it, the front wheels have to do several jobs: steer the car, place power to the ground, keep traction...
