I have a BB 7130e through verizon right now. It's my work phone, all paid for. I emailed my purchaser about getting me a new battery, as mine doesn't hold much of a charge anymore. The rep told him I'm eligible for an upgrade.

I looked at the BB 8703e, but it's wide, like a brick, and I hate that.

At the same time I looked at the Motorola Q, which seems nice, since I'd like to be able to watch videos on it when I'm on the train and stuff, but it looks wide as well.

I like the slim characteristic of the 7130, but hell, if they're offering me a brand new $300-$500 phone, I'd be silly not to get something.

Anyone have thoughts? And don't say Treo please. I avoid those like the plague.

I've had first hand experience with both phones. I currently have the BB 8703e. Since you're already a blackberry user, definitely stay with the 8703. It may not be the thinnest phone out there, but it is the absolute most reliable phone I've used to date. Especially since you use it for work, it's a no-brainer.

The Q will freeze and require a battery-pull on a daily basis (sometimes multiple times per day).

I disagree about the Q problems. I have had to pull the battery no more than once a month on mine as long as you turn it off once and a while. I mean its like a computer you need to shut it down every once and a while or it will lock up.

Cousin works for Bell Canada (CDMA) cell company (She analyses new and old and future cell plans). She has a Q for testing and corporate use.

As alfie stated...she also has alot of freezing problems with the phone and when asked..she said whe wouldn't use it. She does have a blackberry as well which she uses more.

I work for a Verizon dealer and I've had nothing but complaints about the Q. The Q is a good phone, but it'll also cause you headaches. Go with the Blackberry since you already use one.

Thanks for the replies all.

I'm leaning toward the 8703, but I would like to have something with voice dialing, and the ability to watch videos off of a mini SD card.

Then again, maybe I can get my boss to buy me a PDA for that and just get the 8703. :D
