ok so just wondering who here has tattos besides me. if you do and want to share go for it. my first tatto was for a motorcycle crew i ride w/ in tel aviv. the tattoo means that i have more than 20 wins and have been an active member w/ a clean licence for a year now. ( i started riding w/ then last may they let me in early)

Not enough... full sleeve on my right arm, 2 pieces on my left arm, and 3 on my left leg.

Ive had 3 artists work on me, 2 different shops. Currently Im working on my greedy piggy banks piece, Tim Biedron from Deluxe Tattoo in Chicago is doing the work. He is an amazing artist, I highly reccomend him, but you have to schedule your appointment about 4-6 months in advance because he gets completely booked.

Obviously Miami Ink can get away with charging that kind of dough for tattoos because the whole television hype. IMO the Miami Ink artists are over rated. Garver is definetly the most talented of the group and he does some nice work. Kat is good but one dimensional, and the other guys are decent at best if you ask me.

hahaha EXACTLY! It's a win win situation on both ends! :nod:

I've seen tattoos of lips on guys before, but they were drawn out lips and they're usually on the neck! A few things I find tacky about that is first, the lips that are drawn out are a bit gay! I mean, they don't look like REAL lips! At least when you have the ACTUAL imprint of your lips you can see the actual crack and shape of the woman's lip! It's like when a woman blots her lipstick when she puts lipstick on! The blot you see on the napkin is exactly what it should look on the tattoo! And I've kissed a few letters and envelopes in my time and I admit, when my lipstick is drawn in perfectly, I can get a nice imprint of my lips! :nod: It looks so fake, it's cool! haha

And second, it's tacky when it's on the neck because to me, having a tattoo of a woman's lips on your neck screams PLAYER! It's too obvious! Besides, it's more heartwarming to have the imprints right on a man's heart to show a bit more feeling and I think that location has more meaning behind it!

Sorry, I'm just a hopeless romantic! *sigh* I have so many things I want to do for a guy it's driving me nuts! Whoever my future husband will be, should feel very LUCKY! haha Only because I haven't done a lot of things for guys so when I do them it means ten times more! :nod:

Like I said in my previous posts, I have seen those lip tattoos on guys' necks, but they look hand drawn. Meaning, it was drawn the way most tatts are...how they just copy a picture of it. The one I'm talking about is having the ACTUAL imprints of the woman's lips and have it look like how a woman would if they kissed their hand or blot it on a piece of napkin! Well the whole tattoo is to commemorate the past 5 years of my life. While I was constantly deployed to Iraq my family was always there to support me and this is to commemorate all that. Now heres what everything represents. Well the top text means "man is the architect of his own destiny" and the bottom means "Do not seek outside yourself" (famous qote fron Ralph Waldo Emersons "Self Reliance" essay) (both are in latin, as if you couldnt tell) And the koi fish which represents love freindship and happyness is supposed to be biomechanical, influenced by the designs of H. R. Giger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._R._Giger) (the guy who came up with the Alien design for the movie "Aliens". The reason I wanted it to be biomechanical was because I was a mechanic in the Marines for all my time plus it looks cool. Each flowers is for one of my family members who supported me while I was away. Obviously the USMC is for the University of Science, Music, and Culture....just kidding. Its for the United States Marine Corps. And the water represents how chaotic those past five years were. Well thats it,

IMO you should have it colored, obviously it will make the image pop more plus it will give it more contrast with the script banners.

Eventually, she doesnt really have any specific ideas at the moment, but I do know they will be done by a good artist.

Were both in Vegas right now, we stopped by a few tattoo shops out here today including "Hart & Hunnington" which had its own reality series for a season or two.

I asked the guy at the front desk what ever happened to the "gay" reality show. I could tell him and one of the artists got a little offended. I told them I thought it was too much about drama and not enough about the art. Then they started making smart ass remarks back and forth to each other about my "gay" comment.

After I looked though the artists shitty work in thier portfolios I said I would never let these guys tattoo me just to be a dick. I probably wouldnt of said that if they hadnt been such smart asses.

Then the dude says in an asshole tone "lets see your work". So I did, he actually complimented me on my Jesus and snake pieces but he still felt the need to say "but the work on your right arm isnt as good". I wanted to say yeah but its still superior to the kindergarten art thats in these portfolios, but I felt like I had bashed thier egos enough for one night.

Moral of the story is, if your looking for a good tattoo artist, dont go to Vegas.

I didnt get a chance to hear thier prices since I already knew I would never let any of them touch my skin with a needle.

Another thing I forgot to mention was that one of the artists actually had a section in his portfolio of "tattoos done while drunk". And Im talking about the artist being drunk not the customers, what a f*ckin douche.

But most of the ass hats that would let those guys tattoo them are probably too stupid to care anyways.

Yeah, it snowed the first night we were here but no accumulation, just slush. The weather was nice yesterday though and today shouldnt be bad either. And trust me I hate gambling so I wont be losing any money, my wife lost about $10 on the slots so far. We mostly have been checking out the shows and what not.

Eventually, she doesnt really have any specific ideas at the moment, but I do know they will be done by a good artist.

Were both in Vegas right now, we stopped by a few tattoo shops out here today including "Hart & Hunnington" which had its own reality series for a season or two.

I asked the guy at the front desk what ever happened to the "gay" reality show. I could tell him and one of the artists got a little offended. I told them I thought it was too much about drama and not enough about the art. Then they started making smart ass remarks back and forth to each other about my "gay" comment.

After I looked though the artists shitty work in thier portfolios I said I would never let these guys tattoo me just to be a dick. I probably wouldnt of said that if they hadnt been such smart asses.

Then the dude says in an asshole tone "lets see your work". So I did, he actually complimented me on my Jesus and snake pieces but he still felt the need to say "but the work on your right arm isnt as good". I wanted to say yeah but its still superior to the kindergarten art thats in these portfolios, but I felt like I had bashed thier egos enough for one night.

Moral of the story is, if your looking for a good tattoo artist, dont go to Vegas.

lol wow, I always wondered what defined "Inkedup" to be inked up...yea, def a good definition for him haha and congrats on the marriage too. These tats are awesome everyone, mad props. I got 2 myself but no pics of em really because I mainly got them for meaning.

Left outside upper arm is a tat dedicated to my mom and life. Its a cross (cliche I know) with the hands of God or Jesus (however you wanna see it, but to me it's God) and they have the crown of thorns going between them. The crown of thorns represent the paths we travel thru life and the thorns are our trials and tribulations we run into along the way. The hands are God holding our pathway since he may not always seem to be there (eventho he is) he is def there in the beginning and the end. The cross represents heaven and it's in the background because we have to go thru life in order to reach it. I got this after I went thru a tuff spell in my fam when my mom got cancer and I wound up having to work almost fulltime in highschool while going to school and trying to graduate. I had to give up my scholarship for ftball in college to quit and work and I jus wanted something to represent why making a small sacrifice for my mom compares to nothing she has done for me in her life. She inspired this tat more so bc of things she jus go thru in life everyday as well (she pulled thru) so I did a special design jus for her. I got this back when I was 17 bc my dad signed off for it to be done :D

Inside right bicep is an ambigram that says "family/forever" rightside up and upside down respectively. Just for the fam bc they have always been there for me good and bad, alotta bad from jail (damn things u do for love), girl probs/pregnancy, stupidity etc. I got this about 2 yrs ago I think.

I'll try and get some pics of em when I can but who knows when that will be lol. Mad props to everyone on their tats too. Also, imo, they don't hurt too bad. I have a decent threshold for pain I suppose but I think ppl make it seem alot worse than it truly is. I got my stuff done at Rick's Tattoos in Arlington, VA and I absolutely love their work and friendliness etc. Great place to go imo.
