Nuisance from Neighbours

During sunny or non-rainy days, the kids from the house beside ours frequently throw tennis balls onto our roof. THe balls just roll back into their back yard and they continue on for a long time.

Anyone who has done re-roofing can understand how loud and annoying that can be. We've talked to the neighbour but they kind of ignored it and the kids still continue to do it.

Is there there anything we can do ? ( I live in Canada if that makes a difference)

I'd probably recommend to ask them a few more times. If they continue to ignore it then maybe make a disturbance complaint at a police station or something. Make sure you tell them that the parents are fully aware of the situation but choose to ignore it.

But what if the parents deny that we informed them of it when the police questions them? They really do seem like the type to do that.

Maybe have another neighbor witness the kids doing it and witness you complaining to the parents. If anything have a tape recorder. Most likely the police will believe your side of the story. Will probably help if you leave the tennis balls on your yard as evidence.

ohh i know, install a gutter, that way they dont get the balls back! aha!! simple.
that way theres no fudes between neighbors, thats the last thing you want, i wouldt involve cops or anything, just be clever about it.

and if all else fails throw this massive ball at their roof see how they like it....

But what if they decide to throw other crap like rocks. Plus the balls will probably bounce straight off the roof over the gutters anyways. And the noise situation is still there. I'd just save time and get straight to the point. Worst could probably happen is the cops asking them to stop it and they stop.

In canada, the police seem to care about these kind of things alot.. seems like they got nothing else better to do. Try not to get police involved as it will ruin your relationship with your neighbor for the rest of your life.. just talk to them in a polite and warm manner.. if they actually keep ignoring it.. just film the kids throwing shit onto your roof and then call the cops over lol.
