I know this topic has been discussed many time, but I might be picking one of these up october - which one probably the best buy? 335i seem to be the most expensive one and G probably the cheapest.

if you are going to mod the car then 335
if you want luxury with brand, comfort, nice interior, and speed IS350
if you want hot looking, cheap price performance car G37 coupe (if you want the sedan I think u should just buy IS350)

PS
my friend just got a IS350 with premium package and spoiler for 39k out the door. (no navi tho) 43k fully loaded

G37 should be aobut the same price with Navi....

335 is probably about 47otd without navi.....50otd with navi

If your leasing and not going to buy it back... BMW 335i and G Series Infiniti.

If your financing or buying outright...IS350.

All are great cars in thier own rights.

The Best Buy is the G35/G37, but BMW is not called the Ultimate Driving Machine for nothing. The 335i lays waste to all these choices in speed and handling.

Make mine a 6 speed+ZPP, ZSP, & ZCW (they can keep i-Drive). Give me European Delivery and I will have the satisfaction of saving thousands while wringing the car out on the Autobahn. When I get the car back in the U.S., I will be looking for all you who think the IS350 is fast :ben:

yeah the G37 sounds really promising, but I think I might have to stick with the sedan. My buddy just recently pulled 43k out the door for the 335 with navi n sports package. The infiniti dealer offered me Premium, Sports, and Navi for 38k OTD - Haven't really talk with the Lexus dealers tho.

IS350 - no manual... no thank you
G37 coupe - very sexy but can't live with a coupe with 2 kids!
G35 - sedan... still so ugly, can't live with it
335i - ok looking(still looks like a Civic), expensive to make it ok good and so worry about turbo from BMW.

So stick with what I have unless BMW willing to do a 1.9% 4 yr lease!

European Delivery is where you pick up your new car at the factory, so yeah, it is your car. Once you are done driving it around Europe for a week or two, you drop it off to the shipper, and your car is shipped to the U.S.

BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and even Volvo have such programs - you save up to 7% off the price of the car and you get to enjoy The Continent. Porsche has it too, but they charge you extra.

that is retarded then.....
aren't you suppose to break in your car? Instead you gonna drive up to 160mph and red line to the 6th gear...

even though almost all dealers are telling us we don't need to break in our car...lol :wiggle:

No, it is not retarded, since isn't breaking a car in up to you, the driver? Believe me, if I am dropping from $37,000 and up on a BMW,I am going to be plenty careful with it.

Big picture on ED: you save thousands and you get to enjoy Europe in the process. If you can deal with the time for your car to be shipped into the states, it would be retarded not to do it.

what's the point to drive on autobahn when you aren't even suppose to push ur car to 3k rpm....i can do that in US

From BMW forums, I am hearing the rpm limit is 4K. If their gearing is anything like our cars, that would still give you 100mph+ in sixth. Can you do that in the US all day without constantly scanning for Johnny Law?

Since I have driven from Rome to Florence to Venice, I can vouch that driving in Europe is much more than just going fast. The scenery in Italy was amazing, especially in Tuscany, and the AutoGrills, well, just think Italian food in Italy - Molto Squisito!

But let me lay the $$ on you. If you go to a dealer who is an ED pro, on a 335i your ED price could be $3 to $5K less that US retail. How nice a European trip can you have for, say, $4K?

^^ but without ED, you still can get 2-3k discount on a 335i. And I agree with you that who need to drive the damn brand new car on autobann right away! you can do a lot of sight seeing in the city with your own car for a couple days before moving along to other city/country on autobann. And BTW who care those break in rule on a Euro... they going to break down neway regardless how you break it in... :grinfawk:

If you can get a dealer to deal with you locally, sure, you may save $2-3K off domestic retail, but ED will give you another $1 to $2k on top of that. That said, I have read dealers are not dealing on the 335i, especially the coupe and convertibles.

If and when the time comes, it will be the way I go.

What is up with the Deutschlanders' lack of quality these days, anyway? I have heard it about all of them. I am just fortunate that the wife's Passat has been relatively trouble free.

anyway....i break in with 3k.....it'd be better if i get a loaner and drive to 160mph also...across country with their car :jester:

i guess you disagree....

I'm a BMW lover, but I think the other two cars in this case are the better buy.

The G37 is AWESOME and I want one bad, but with my wife and i trying to get pregnant, a coupe is not the best choice for vehicle. Personally IF IT WERE ME...I would want the IS350...in fact i DO want one, but can't afford it right now..lol. Maybe next summer...plus i've only had the TSX for 9 months...and since i bought it new, i dont want to lose too much. gotta wait to even out some before i sell it.

Plus, i'm not very comfortable with the BMW turbo since I *think* i read in motor trend that the turbo is made by Mitsubishi...but i'll double check that.

The new M3 will be sweet though......but then again so will the Lexus IS-F....and its a sedan. that's where I wanna be come 2008.

for sure 335... u can't beat that 50k full warrenty (brakes, oil, etc.) plus the 335i is underated (approx. 275 WHP) according to: http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/0609_2007_bmw_335i_dynamometer/
and if u spend just $1400 for a vishnu chip for 75hp. my 2 cents

the free maintenance does not cover: differential, brake, or gear oil and coolant these now are according to bmw Life-time fill. you can read most issues of "bimmer" to hear some complaints from readers who transmission or differential has failed for a late model car.

Honda recommends those fluids be changed every 15-30k miles on most cars (shorter for LSD equipped cars)

It won't cost alot to change it anyway...They are complaining because they thought it's free. Not because of the price.

yeh its not free, but since its not free alot of people don't do some of those changes.

10k oil change and never changing oil in moving parts is a recipe for disaster. As my friend found out on his 2004 745i when the diff blew at about 75k miles and cost 4-5k to fix.

ya well ppl who are changing oil at 10k miles are dumbasses... i've heard a lot of ppl including my parents who are loving the warrenty.. some ppl have to just ask question before buying the car
